Mt Stapylton is down again tonight, after a long outage less than a week ago. It seems to go down every time it rains anywhere in SEQLD. Did the BOM buy a lemon? Is Mt Stapylton the worst radar in Australia?

Try lightning strikes and power surges. Mt.S is smack bang in the middle of "TS alley" where the storms are mostly at their peak. And being elevated it is a prime target. We can't have everything.

Actually it is totally unreliable. Technology is with us to avert lightning strikes and to me the reliability is pathetic.
You can have a plane in the air that gets stiked many times so com on, it should be quite simple for the bom to keep this fixed
