Thanks for the info and links, Knot.

Warm day peaking at 32 degrees with SSE winds. It was quite a pleasant temperature last night. It got down to 16 degrees at 6AM this morning which was lovely to wake up to. smile

Lol if that actually occurred will get a few drops amounting to 175mm in accumulated rainfall total dangler, everything has been so dry here that it wouldn't even cause a flood.

Balmy nite. Clear mostly with a little smoke haze and light breeze.
@Funky. Shame wind is forecast to be all wrong for a good swell on Mon and Tuesday. South easter. Surfies might find a protected corner that can gets good pickup with a nor east/easterly swell Blacksmith breakwater comes to mind locally. Shame winds won't be offshore. There is something majestic about a good ground swell breaking with a firm offshore wind.
@Pickle. Glad you found links usefull. Here is another good wave height prediction animation https://www.surfertoday.com/wave-height-forecast/australia-and-indonesia

Broome. 340mm to 4am,We could take that here,it would cause a flood but we will need a flood to fill all the dams, tanks, and creeks, even big dams like Chichester my water supply,is falling fast.

Sea gales - a bit surprising when the ocean temperatures off the central part of the coast have been between 24 and 25 lately, with maxima in coastal locations barely higher.

The synoptic chart shows only weak winds over NSW. In the warmer months near the coast, that means windy afternoons.

Had a fire behind my house today. Got pretty nuts for about an hour. Came right up to back fence. rfs have only just left after the fire started at 9am. Man, when you get those gusts. It's a timely reminder of how fast a fire can move.

Yep, I'd take another April 2015 or June 2007 superstorm here right now.
Better than the single digit figures that we look like getting again this month.
36C tomorrow as well, running at about 32.5C average max so far, about a degree less than Feb 2017, but still well above average.

@ Funky. Hope things ok with fire. Sounds like a close shave.
Morning similar to yesterday but a light NNWester.
Good old Nob and Norah are around average for min temps so far. But Mrs Norah has got a bit of a temperature during the day and is running a few degrees above her max temp. Mr Norah has been getting her riled up a bit more than usual. But Mr Nob has kept his cool a little better and is keeping things a little under 2. Mrs Nob likes to try and raise his temp a little more with her skirts fluttering in the valley winds. But the seabreeze checks his ardour. The days and nights of Nob an Norah. To be continued.

What's this "mostly sunny" crap in the forecast?
It's been 8/8 cloud cover all morning here, and still is.

I know this stuff will start to burn off eventually, but the forecast is simply wrong.

It was bright and sunny when I got up before 7:00, but this low cloud rolled in from the North by about 7:30. The cloud seems to be restricted to Sydney and nearby areas and looks to be rapidly shrinking and evaporating. It'll be gone soon.

The tale of the Nobbys and Norah's - a rival to any number of soap operas and sitcoms. Another one I might look at when I get time, the Hills (Observatory) - the old and the new.

They're listening to you Homer wink

Beautiful morning here, a light sea breeze has been present all morning.

Yesterday I played cricket up at Gresford and was quite surprised how strong the easterly breeze was, most of the time it was just a breeze but then a gust would come through and would last up to ten minutes, at a guess I reckon the gust were between 40-50kmph, I suspect the large hills had something to do with it.
