Looks like they've taken down Mt Stapylton to work out a few issues. There's no duration either.

Hi all . Nice 54 mm yesterday and over night .Amazing how quick grass goes from brown to green .Thanks for the photo Plumbob .
I heard it was bad in Charlieville and 98 kmh wind .Would have been a corker if it came our way after the rain would have been a mud bath lol.

Looks like the SE Qld coast will get some really decent totals over the next few days - can see the usual places in the hills getting well over 100mm over the next 72 hours.

Beyond that and looking longer term it looks like we could finally be entered a wetter pattern. Just needed that La Nina to break down wink (joke)

Thanks for putting up the map KevD, tapers off quickly beyond Ipswich, any rain is good rain.

The NSW media and Bom are really talking up this event with heavy falls and possible localised flooding but the Queensland office have just the standard high chance of showers in the forecast for this region????

So my work plan for tomorrow is to rip a large section of roof off of a house we are currently renovating (removed a small section today)....hmmm, i wonder how that will pan out. The tarps should keep the water out, but this wind is making it hard to keep the tarps in place.

Seems neither SEQ radars are working properly. Currently raining at Indooroopilly and there is nothing showing on Marburg.

Happened earlier today in the Valley as well.

Proper showers too.

At the moment, there seems to be general model consensus for the coastal trough to start digging further south tomorrow with the associated low level wind convergence... the consensus currently suggests this will cause the showery conditions (possibly tending to rain at times for some places) over the Sunshine Coast to progressively spread south over other parts of SE QLD late tomorrow.
Then eventually to the Gold Coast by Friday where the rainfall could be enhanced further if the trough continues digging in more and the wind convergence increases.
At a stretch, a very small low might form near, or south of the border once it gets to that stage but that'd be pushing it.

We might lose some of the upper support over the next couple of days from the area of max upmotion closer to the upper low as it continues to drift a bit further away but there is still a fair bit of upslide going on around here with the backing winds with height over the next couple of days which should help with the rainfall.

Areas just to the south of the southern end of the coastal trough look like getting the steadier more widespread rainfall while areas to the north that are left in its wake look to get a warmer NE flow with a more convective/lumpy nature to any rainfall as instability and warmth increases (where some people do a lot better than others).

For any places that do manage to get under any storms after winds turn more NE, I wouldn't be surprised about locally heavy falls due to the weak steering winds, moisture and fairly high precipitable water values (but due to the weak shear, less chance of large hail and damaging winds).

All in all, coast/islands/hinterlands still looking like doing the best out of everyone but the timings will vary depending on the area.
Running totals/accumulation suggestions from a few of the models for Brisbane below:

Good analysis of this unfolding event Ken, lot of uncertainty still and the coast could do with a good drink that's for sure.

Bundy must have just copped that slow moving cell from the east...36.6mm in the last hour.

edit: scratch that, 44.6mm from 7pm to 8pm now!

21.0mm in the 24hrs to 9am from showers at times. There was decent orographic enhancement of precip around the Dorrigo area, with falls of up to 92mm.

My apologies for the delay in renaming the thread from the 22nd to 20th, have been flat out over recent days.
I also moved several posts made yesterday from the day-to-day thread and into here instead.

What are the big issues with Mt Stapylton radar that required it's shutdown and repair? There is a bit of info on the site but it's not very clear.
There's no estimate of the outage either.
Someone in the BOM should know and put out some information about it and update the outage time.
