BLOODY WELL ENJOYING THIS I CAN TELL YOU!!!

Very dark - nice persistent "rain".

It's worth a look at the sat Pic and two huge and rapidly expanding cloud blobs exist - one over Dubbo and the other over Orange/Bathurst.

And yes Homer a strange set up.

Yeah Homer it's all converging on Sydney. My guess would be that the outer west will get some heavy rain but I have a feeling the coastal areas of Sydney will largely miss out.

Now that the change has passed, the sky has a very stable look to it again. I doubt there will be any more rain.

Yeah Kino looks like many areas missed out around the coast.

And excellent stuff DaveM.

Hoping we pick up when the se'erly stream showers arrive overnight, but it looks like we've missed out again.

The latest BOM forecast is positive for the metro but I'm not so hopeful. Radar not looking as positive as it was earlier.

Went outside and bugger the edge of the storm is just to my west.

Currently about 17 after being about 32 earlier.

Hope it doesn't heat up again after the storm.

Well I've certainly enjoyed the last hour or 2.

Hope a few others get a go tonight too. smile

I think a Southerly change has just arrived in the last 15 minutes or so. It's getting windy and it's cooled down somewhat. Wattamolla got a gust of 69kmh from the South at 3:51PM.

I think the bureau is hinting at those showers moving up with the southerly possibly developing into thunderstorms. I don't see anything substantial over the ranges. Also the lifted index about -2 over Sydney at 7pm

Radar is filling in a bit so maybe there is some hope yet.
At least some decent rain has fallen in the catchment today.

Heavy shower currently hitting us. Hope we get some sparks later on. All the plants in my garden must have forgotten what rain is.

Those showers and storms seem to be moving to the North now. If that's the case, those on the ranges will stay there, but for Sydney the ones moving up the coast are the ones to watch.

11.8mm so far here at Cooks Gap, and a few nice sparks and rumbles to go with it. Temp has dropped from 35.0 back to 18.9 now as well smile

Some good falls about the Central Tablelands and Illawarra. That rain / storm band over the Central Tablelands might deliver a lot more.

The Inverell area has done well with storms this afternoon, 24mm with similar totals around town.

Tamworth up to 8mm so far. First 'substantial' rain in well over a month.

Hopefully a bit more to come and hopefully some rain has fallen over Mt Kaputar which has had a large fire burning in the NP for over a week now.

Southerly change can't come quick enough, still muggy and hot here, aircon has been on most of the day.
A day without aircon tomorrow will be absolute bliss.
Some rain possible, 10mm-20mm, would be ideal as well.

I reckon this is the best rain here for months. Over 40 mm so far.

Been nothing substantial about any troughs this summer. They don't linger.
