Gringos Rain,How much have you measured so far.I have measured 55 mms so far,and it has all soaked in no run off still raining but not as heavy,we need some heavy storms now for run off, there looks to be showers moving in from the SE as well, but the rain we have been getting has been coming down from the NW.

For once, some rain.

DerekHV, just beware of the readings for Singo.

The readings are now to the military base (-32.70 151.16), which the site is much closer to Broke then Singleton (14kms away directly to the south).

They still do the Singleton STP (Sewage Treatment Plant - only 1.5 km south of Singleton), but now back to only the 9am/3pm figures, but most apps now use the Defence site for their readings.

I suspect that the move may be due to the mine sites that are all west of Singleton, and that by using the Defence site (which is not at the barracks as the original site was), which is at the southern tip of lowest Hunter mine pit is to give slightly mischievous readings saying that the mines do not impact the area.

The Defence site has had 52mm, whereas Singleton STP had only 41mm.

39.9mm in the 24hrs to 9am and 10mm since, that was also my wettest day since June 9 2017.

Currently only 18c, certainly doesn't feel like 18c.

I think we are all wondering how GR faired?

Wow, Woy Woy has tipped out 112 mm in the 24 hour period, quite good considering that it isn't really elevated.

Great stuff Max

I don't think the Newy radar is picking up the low level southerly showers to well, its been fairly heavy and steady for the past hour or so.

so great to hear everybody got a nice freshen up. Really was a nice event for a very deserved eastern NSW.

We had 20mm to 5pm yesterday. 25mm overnight and another 8mm today. So 53mm for the event. This was bang on expectations for me, though I was secretly hoping to be in the right zone to get a 90+ mm fall. I think its just luck sometimes to get those wins and that win looks to be the southern areas from Goulburn to Canberra and an area from Putty through to Gosford on the CC (similar to last weeks event).

The main dam has moved up for the first time since October and the land and gardens are so thankful.
We need half a dozen similar follow ups now in succession and it does appear we could be lucky looking at the models. Let hope we have turned the corner properly.

Driving in the area this morning its quite surprising how little this rain has done for dams. They have barely moved....but if we had 75mm now, i think there would be some noticeable movement.

Only about 8 foot to and 3- 4 million litres to get my main dam back on track, but we have to start somewhere!

When this was looking like a garden variety change again 10-14 days ago, I was hoping a little pool of cold air I could see in the bite would get spat up into NSW and become a cutoff cold pool. Well there was cold pool spat up into NSW (and thus the event upgraded), but it basically stalled and just rolled through the south. This was actually arguably a better outcome as sometimes the cutoff lows, drag in NE feeds, which just hammer the southern coast with rain, and NE NSW with storms and we get dregs in the middle (Hunter/Met). This setup seemed to ensure that precipitation was shared around a bit more, which was nice.

The rain broke for an hour or so but is coming down as decent thizzle again now. I will take it all, as its finally starting to run off!!

Glad the Daves and Stormy, and Eddy and Quaggie and Derek and everyone else who needed a break got a bit.

Wow Max!!

Quite variable out here.

Orange had VERY little of it.

Just spoke to a fellow from western side of Bathurst who only had 13mm.

I was lucky to get a decent drink it seems - others did not sadly.

Good stuff GringosRain, did you happen to take a photo of your dams before the rain started?

Stopped here, just occasional drizzle, walked to the Mulwaree to watch in flood.

We were pretty bad from here to braidwood until about 6 weeks ago, but I'm now on about 170mm for this year already with 3 X 25mm+ events. Really happy for our locals who were battling extensive grass fires just a few short weeks ago.

Fair enough GR, would love to see them pics one day, if I am ever in your neck of the woods I will call in and say hello.

Top stuff DVC, with Autumn just a few days away, things will be looking much better and greener around your area in a week or two times.

Good to see that you got some much-needed rain. Hopefully more to come in the next couple of weeks, the models look hopeful.

It might be worth looking at Postimage if you want to post more pictures - it's free, quick and easy.

------

There are patches of blue sky and sunny breaks here, it hasn't rained since about 11:00 and it's warmed up to about 23 degrees. Nearby Chatswood has received 74mm from the event. There's water over the Lane Cove weir for the first time in a while.

Postimage is great Steve. Really makes posting images a breeze. You recommended it to me sometime ago. It is all I use now.
Still grey. But no rain for awhile now. By the look of it though I think a shower or two on the cards. But not wall to wall

I see Casino just had 121mm in the last 2 hours, no doubt some flash flooding there.
