Wowza guys, your dam is filling fast. 29% now. A lot more to come for you too.
How many mm's over the catchment area would you estimate would fill her up?

I did a back of the envelope calculation last year. To fill it we would need between 2000 and 2700mm of usual rainfall intensity (15mm per hour) over a period of 2 years+. Or a stalled Cat 1 or 2 cyclone somewhere close to Ingham for 24 hours. A La Night of Noah when we got 725mm in 36 hours.

Ground is sodden, water table is filling, wet lands are getting a good flush so prawns will be running to breed and so too fish, run off is at peak flow.

Hypothetical - If we get a side swipe by a Cat 1 in the next couple of weeks we could see a heck of a lot of damage from trees falling over, flooding, road damage etc.

Considering it went from 19 to 29 percent last night...dont think it will need quite that amount but then again maybe it would.

In all honesty unless it moves more nw I dont think it will do much for anywhere north of blackriver.

I was trying to work out the lows apporox centre..by tge rain radar I thought near mt Stuart but its really hard to see. I am gonna guess this will deepen this evening?

And ill change my opinion on rain being south of black river...i remember reading about an increasing NW flow so maybe we will get moisture feeding from the nw as well as from the cs.
