Over 100mm in middle parts of the catchment last night. Moderate to major levels expected again today. Cattle creek has risin again since last night and based in the rain at Cardwell gap I would assume Seymour is the same.

Thoughts on next weeks event??

RR Dam is at 93%, slowly rising. smile

Starting to look more likely I won't make it to Bilyana this Easter....I note on the qld traffic website that the road is actually closed just South of the Bilyana turn off as well, which means the creek behind our place has overflowed and gone across the highway again...

Our neighbour says the back of our place is just as flooded as it was last time.

Next week (well early next week) look interesting, most models have the Low approaching the coast. Remains to be seen if it will actually reach it.

If it crosses North of Townsville, it will cause a serious flood event. I'm sort of hoping it doesn't reach the coast.

I'm new to the Ingham region Ol' Mate - how long do you reckon the Seymour will stay over? We're supposed to head to Kurrimine Beach for Easter...

g'day mate - hard to say. The wont let people thru when theres only 10cm of water over the rd - thats main roads rules for ya! i would hope that if it stops raining maybe tomorrow. Also depends how high the Herbert gets - if it tops 10m at Gairloch it actually flows into the seymour and will push it higher again.

Well i am not looking at any model between now and if this ex TC approaches or not, will play out as it plays out. too many variables and factors and every model seems different and changing by the run.
looks like being our last rain event for the season, lets see what happens.

Biggest flood watch area ive seen since TC Debbie id say

Initial Flood Watch for coastal catchments between Cairns and Burnett Heads
Issued at 2:10 pm EST on Thursday 29 March 2018
Flood Watch Number: 1

River level rises and areas of flooding may develop in the Flood Watch area from Monday.

A tropical low currently in the Coral Sea is likely to approach the coast over the weekend.

Areas of heavy rainfall may develop within the Flood Watch area from late Sunday through to Tuesday. The location of the heaviest rainfall remains uncertain and is dependent on the movement of the low. Further updates will be provided over the weekend as more information becomes available.

Any significant rainfall may cause river level rises above the minor flood level from Monday and may also lead to local flooding.

Catchments that have received recent rainfall are expected to respond quickly.

Catchments which may be affected include:

Mulgrave and Russell Rivers
Johnstone River
Tully River
Murray River
Herbert River
Black River
Ross and Bohle Rivers
Haughton River
Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam
Don and Proserpine Rivers
Pioneer River
Connors, Isaac and Styx Rivers and Plane Creek
Mackenzie and Fitzroy Rivers and Shoalwater and Water Park Creeks
Calliope River
Boyne River
Baffle Creek
Kolan River
