Well the big falls happened around me but not over me.

86mm recorded until 0900hrs this morning. Makes a great start to March though and there is the hint that maybe a clock wise circulating windy thing may make an appearance in about 10 days. Not that I put much stock in models as you all know.

That probably is a scary scenario. Ground this wet, low lands already waterlogged. Trees already stressed by the extended drought, roads are starting to break up, rail lines etc if we do cope even a piddling cat 1 there could be a great deal more damage that anyone would expect. Next years prawn and barra season are going to be gang busters. Me I'm already prepped as I am every year and have been since November.

I still haven't perfected my Cat 1 BBQ though - bloody wind keeps blowing the gas out.

had the same here SBT, the real heavy falls fell east and west but not over me. Still the total amount of rain over last 11 days has been phenomenal.

I do nt think it matters if the rain falls over your house as long as loads fills the dam which it did. Good.

being such a shallow dam it can fill quick once the soil is saturated. the dam area received around 100mm more than me in kirwan so we are grateful it fell where it did. Perfect storm for us really. Not a drought breaker yet, would like to see how mother nature plays out through March before saying that. But no doubt its given us 3 years worth of water. Hopefully if March comes off like the models are showing it will be overflowing in a few weeks.

Very loud, very bright, very windy and very wet. Out of all the activity we've had for the last few weeks, I reckon this one takes the cake. Power has gone off a few times, so far I have my house power back but no street lights. Plenty more coming down from the Innisfail coastline as well.
