Hello Folks:
It's 4:15PM Saturday here & the thundershowers/cold front passed through a bit over an hour ago.
Have had quite a wet weather pattern over my area of the US lately. A series of Cold fronts, Low-Pressures to South, Stationary fronts and moist Southerly flows, have seen me record measurable rain at my house on each day since the 16th.
Including the 1.80"/45.7mm rain I've recorded today; I've recorded a total of 10.35"/262.8mm rain since the 16th. It's not often we have this many consecutive days with measurable rain.
Hope to dry out for a while.

For the week of Feb. 25-Mar. 3: Mena's Avg. Max.: 57.8F/14.3C; Avg. Min.: 34.0F/1.1C

This past week felt very Spring-like, with warm temperatures and more thundershower activity. A Warm front passed through on the 27th & was followed by the trailing Pacific cold front on the 28th (rain lingering into the early AM on March 1st).
Noticed daffodils/jonquils starting to bloom (along with other tiny white-colored flowers) in my front yard on the 28th, along with more small patches of green grass. So, I guess--for all intents & purposes--Spring is really upon us (some 3 weeks early). The tulip tree just down the street has bigger blooms on it each day. The upcoming forecasts show no really cold temperatures for my area--so I guess I'll be mowing before too much longer.
Overall Low-around 11PM-listed for the 28th (the morning minimum being a balmy 63F/17.2C); Overall Low-around 11:25PM-listed for the 1st (the morning minimum being a mild 55F/12.7C).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for good shower chances early-week & late-week, with a bit of a cool-down in the middle.

Another late-Winter week with variable temperatures and a couple days of good warmth. A Warm front brought the scant raintotal on the 4th; the trailing Pacific cold front came through on the 5th & a dry and somewhat weak Canadian cold front came through on the 6th--this front was aided by cooler N/NW winds and brought a couple days of cooler minimums and maximums. Rain on the 10th was ahead of an approaching Pacific cold front (which passed on the 11th; small raintotal was due to a thundershower cell which hit around 12:30AM on the 10th).
Otherwise, signs of Spring are becoming more evident.

For the week of March 11-17: Mena's Avg. Max.: 61.7F/16.5C; Avg. Min.: 38.0F/3.3C

This last full week of Winter had a cool start with a fairly warm finish. The last few days felt very Springlike, indeed. A couple of dry Canadian cold fronts passed through--on the 11th and late on the 16th. The 11th had solid cloudcover and chilly NW/N winds; the minimum on the 14th could likely be the last freezing minimum until late-Autumn. Most everything is blooming & budding out by now (I even saw dandelions blooming and redbud trees budding earlier today--Monday). A saying in these parts is: When you see the redbuds blooming you'll know it's Spring for sure.
Overall Low-around 9:15PM-listed for the 11th; Overall Low-around 11:45PM-listed for the 12th; Overall Low-around 11:10PM-listed for the 16th (the morning minimum was a fairly warm 57F/13.8C).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for fair rainchances and a brief cold shot of air early-week, followed by rebounding temperatures and better rainchances by late-week.

Hello Folks:
Here's previous weeks' weather in Mena, Arkansas:

DATE......HIGH........LOW........RAIN
Apr..1..67F/19.4C..50F/10C...0.05"/1.2mm

.......6..57F/13.8C..50F/10C...1.50"/38.1mm
.......7..52F/11.1C..32F/0C....0.10"/2.5mm

For the week of Apr. 1-7: Mena's Avg. Max.: 67.7F/19.8C; Avg. Min.: 43.0F/6.1C

This past week featured a fairly active weather-pattern; with a warm start and a cooler finish. A Canadian cold front passed on the 1st; a Warm front (fog/SW winds & nighttime temperature rise) on the 2nd; a Pacific cold front (with quite a bit of colder air behind it) came through on the 3rd; another Pacific cold front passed through on the 6th.
The front/thundershower-line on the 3rd was fairly thin & fast moving; but we had a few minutes of fairly large (at least for my area) & fast-falling hail (starting right after 3PM). I drove a few blocks through the hail to get to my house (all the while, I was praying that the stones wouldn't crack my windshield. Although a number of stones hit my windshield fairly hard [it sounded like rocks hitting], no damage happened--Thank The LORD!). The stones were marble+ sized and I picked up a couple larger stones off the ground and they were as big around as US Quarters! We don't get hail that often here & rarely do we get hail of that size. The only other time I've seen hail Quarter sized here was a brief fall of it, in excess of 10 years ago. The stones on the ground took a while to melt. The hail fall was localized as nearby areas had no hail. A few minutes afterward & EVERYTHING stopped--rain & hail. In fact, the thin line was so fast-moving that I only copped .10"/2.5mm rain from it. Quite a strange & interesting thundershower/frontal line.
The 7th was a day of chilly conditions & falling temperatures (quite a shock compared to the warmth of the 3rd), the Daytime Maximum being only 38F/3.3C at the 6:56AM sunrise.
The top on the 1st was achieved at 12:01AM & around 4PM & Overall Low was around 11PM; Overall High-around 10:15PM-listed for the 2nd; Overall Low-around 11:50PM listed for the 3rd (the morning pre-frontal minimum being a balmy 65F/18.3C); Overall High-12:01AM & Overall Low-around 10:45PM-listed for the 7th.
Looks like "Old Man Winter" isn't quite done with my area yet as we could see temperatures around freezing early next week, before another nice warm-up, with more rain slated for near the weekend.

Kind Wishes & Take Care~~~Wet Snow
BTW, a US Quarter has a diameter of 0.995"/24.26mm

For the week of Apr. 9-14: Mena's Avg. Max.: 69.5F/20.8C; Avg. Min.: 44.5C/6.9C

This past week featured mid-week warmth, with a coolish start & finish. A dry & weak Canadian cold front passed through on the 9th, and a Pacific cold front came through on the 14th. There were a total of 11 confirmed tornadoes in Arkansas on the 13th, and--Most Thankfully--the severe weather did miss my immediate area (there was a tornado near the small town of Umpire, in N Howard County, which is [as-the-crow-flies] around 24miles/38.6kilometers SSE of Mena).
The mid-week warmth was very nice and pleasant; ideal for any outside work.
Overall Low-around 10:45PM-listed for the 13th (had a morning minimum of a balmy & humid 63F/17.2C); Overall High-12:01AM & Overall Low-around 10:45PM-listed for the 14th; as it was a chilly day with somewhat gusty & cool NW winds (had a morning minimum of 45F/7.2C with a Daytime High struggling up to 51F/10.5C around 3PM).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for early-week warmth, with temperatures trending lower for the rest of the week and better thundershower chances near the weekend.

*I forgot to mention in my previous report, that the Daytime Maximum (at the 6:56AM Sunrise/7AM observation) of 38F/3.3C on the 7th, was a new Record Low Maximum for the Date (breaking 45F/7.2C in 2007).
