A wild night - obs at Sth Johnstone say the wind only gusted to the max of 44kph but I'm sure it was much higher than that here. Things knocked over but we will rebuild.
138mm here at Utchee so far and it's black to the east.
How is the Tully River looking anyone in the know? ie the Tully and Murray have a warning on them so how much more rain does it take for them to be flooded?

Just a wee bit wet this morning, 116mm at the alert so far (still raining) since 9am. The ground is still very saturated, so the back has flooded pretty quick:

252mm here...over 600mm for the week so far...

a bit wet underfoot,CV..haha...that's a bit of understatement..

Great to see your waterfeature back RD..

Kowree, its saying major flooding for the Tully River..the boy went to school today despite my advice not to go...he had to hike out the back over the tram bridge and a Km or so along the tracks and across a neighbours paddock back to the main road. ...Keener than most..

8mm Chillagoe at 6am,and still sprinkling.

Very light sprinkle all the way to Cairns, except for a short section of proper rain just west of Mareeba, enough to wash the mud off the car. But that's all. Was expecting more...

Thanks for the pics RD.

Not sure how the rain gauge is going to catch the rain. It is horizontal and bucketing down at the moment.

Last check we are about an inch up the outer tube since I emptied around 7:30ish.

Nice totals guys and thanks for sharing your pics RD

Tinaroo Dam level is updating again. 49.93%... Looks like most of the catchment area had falls around 70mm

Fishery falls has been getting smashed!!! Wish there was a gauge there. Bit of a gap in gauges between Vohland RD and Clyde RD alerts.

Just heard they are about to close the highway at Banyan in Tully. Still good rain coming in squalls here. Probably had over 50mm since 7:30 at a guess.

Over 50 % now Simmo..should get a good rise today..

I'm going to wait till the water clears a bit before swimming today RD..its like milk chocolate at the moment ..and besides the dogs would probably be swept away its flowing so fast..

Just been down to the river with the dogs. It is rising quick. I would guess at least 1cm every 2 mins. I have a bench between 2 trees and it was 10cm below when I got there and it was over the top when I left. Was there for less than 20 mins!!

Yeah should see a good rise in Tinaroo today and tomorrow. There is a fair decent amount of rain heading straight for the catchment.
