Same here in Yeppoon mainly overnight and early this morning. Water around the parks.

We go from having next to no wind blowing almost like Rocky for a week to blowing gale force last night.

Had a call from a business colleague based in Melbourne, she asked how I was coping with all the rain & cyclones in Qld recently.

I had to explain that I was in Rockhampton, and that Rockhampton hasnít seen many if any effects of the tropical wet season this year.

Apparently their media outlets down there are suggesting that all of Qld is currently underwater & being battered by multiple category 6 cyclones on all fronts.

Yesterday evening I tossed 20ml out of the gauge. Not sure though if hubby had emptied it recently.

It is dry here today although there were lots of showers last night.

They still haven't finished the Statue Bay landslip part of the highway completely damaged from Marcia. You would think with the lack of extreme events in the past 2 or so years they would be finished soon. They should have started it in 2015 not 2016 . Took a year for funding and what not I think.

It takes me 18mins now to get into Yeppoon and 18 mins back. It is about the same on Tanby Road into Yeppoon.

That is almost in total as much as going one way into Rockhampton !
Especially when people here seem to go 40 km/hr all the way through the 3km detour..

I started doing grocery shopping via online then pickup at Woolies to cut down some of the time travelling.

It's amazing how a small detour can make it feel like we're miles away from town when we're not.Oh and now they have a 40km/hr speed limit near where the new Homemaker centre is going too , so going to have to skip that way too .

20 deg this morning actually almost felt cold lol.

Humidity is actually bearable on the coast in March which seems odd but pleasant.

One of The Morning Bulletin's article mentions the word "catastrophe" for next week frown

Today was the only properly sunny day we have had in a fair while. One of the clients I clean for will be happy. He lives entirely on solar so I have done the very basics for the last couple of weeks as I didn't want him to come home to fridges off or such cause I had used too much.

We missed a very black and ominous storm the other day whilst in town. Not sure where it went though. Think it followed the highway north.

Very humid today on the coast and in Rockhampton you'd think some sort of rainfall was on its way soon.

A bit to late in the season for rain now Vinnie.
I think it's now going to be dry season weather very soon, and will be no rain till about Oct/Nov. So get ready for some typical CQ drought conditions.

Clickbait title on Higgins page:

Queensland and the Northern Territory keep a very close eye on this one. https://higginsstormchasing.com/significant-cyclone-threatÖ/

Looks like right on que the proposed cyclone in the Gulf will destroy the chance we have of getting some decent falls in coastal Central Queensland later in the week.
