Yeah the way those daily precip totals change on WZ, sounds like whoever does it likes playing pin the tail on the donkey...just rubbish predictions with weather conditions like this..

Havent you had enough rain yet HF..all this mud is driving me nuts..

Hope weary and RF had a good birthday despite the crappy weather..yeah must have been interesting birthdays back in 2006..were you living up here back then Ron..?

Happy birthday RF and Weary.

Just got back from Rocky, lots of water lying around from Cardwell up. Inner tube full and abot 2 inches up the outer. Nice heavy falls coming in off the coast.

Your birthday celebrations will fine Weary. Made a late night decision to go shopping yesterday (earlier than intended, & just on Tableland) in case there's a rush. Can guarantee Nora will go west....
(iIt happens every time I do that.)

6.8mm here and welcome Nora. It would be nice if you came east.
Bom do have this in their advice:

A coastal crossing anywhere along the western Cape York Peninsula south of Weipa during Saturday or Sunday is possible.

We can hope. To be honest though I don't want too much rain. I lost a few plants to water logging and a fruit tree, a Wampi, still has not fully recovered and I think it might die if we get another 100-200mm in the next few days. I also think I will loose the remainder of the cherry tree if we get much wind. But it can rain in the dam catchment all it likes lol. Not fussy hey!!!

I wonder why an initial flood watch has not been issued for the region with the rainfall that has fallen over the last 24-48 hours and with the expected rainfall this weekend.

Minor flood warning for the Tully and Murray river today Simmo after up to 120 mm up the valley last night......

I also noticed this on the flood warning........"A Flood Watch is expected to be issued later today for this next rainfall event."

The ground is totally saturated down here...sounds like its the same up your way as well..starting to see a few plants curl up their toes here too..
