Yeah left the washing out thinking it was going to be raining in the afternoon and evening, as that is what the forecast for today said yesterday lol. It's showery and drizzly but not really appearing much on the radar. Capricornia forecast for rainfall has been slashed by BOM overnight but I expect that will change again. What do you think it will change to ? Mackay has the forecast now that Yeppoon had yesterday.

I think that because at time of forecast low was still moving west and not SW as predicted but I’m just saying forecasts could change again dependent on movement of low. Lot of variables at play and I think it has started its southward turn now looking at Willis Is radar. Most models agree it will swing SW towards the coast and then SE brushing the coast. But in saying that it will do what it does and could do anything lol.

Morning Bulletin
Ex-tropical cyclone Iris may reform Gregory Bray by GREGORY BRAY 1st Apr 2018 12:36 PM
THE Bureau of Meteorology is keeping a close eye on the movements of ex-tropical cyclone Iris, with the system expected to impact between Townsville and Yeppoon.
The centre of the system is currently located off Townsville and BOM meteorologist Nicholas Shearer said at this stage there was a moderate chance it could turn back into cyclone around Tuesday.
"We should know by tomorrow (Monday) morning, but most of our models show it will continue moving off the coast midweek," Mr Shearer said.
"It's difficult to predict at this stage what could happen if it reforms
"The system will still have a major impact on communities between Townsville and Yeppoon with large rainfall expected over the next few days."
The other uncertainty around the weather system is if a new cyclone forms whether it will be called Iris again or renamed Owen.
Another cyclone, Josie, has formed off Fiji and at this stage the BOM predicts it will not affect Queensland.
Heavy falls predicted for the Gladstone region today have been downgraded to light to moderate showers of 25-40mm.

I would not believe too much the morning bulletin says. Since being taken over by news corp, it is now just another crappy media outlet.

Still not a drop here.
All we get is a strong wind.

TC Marcia was a 1 in 30yr storm. That means we are safe now until 2045. Rejoice

How often has Yeppoon had something like Marcia, was David about the last one before Marcia that caused damage ?
Seems like Mackay northwards is where cyclones usually are and they usually are ex cyclones or just a low if we get anything.

Tc Fran about 1992 was interesting in Emu Park there was a lot of tree damage and a few roofs off. The Eye was to the East of us ,from the back of the house we could see lighting to the east and Heron Island went through the Eye from memory. But just a glancing blow for the cap coast I guess.

I wonder if it is all over for us now.
Be better for us now if it just goes away. These cyclones have done nothing but wreck any chance for rain.
