First one for the year I think this will be, proves how boring it has been.

A trough is the cause of heat filtering into the State as one deepens from the west and travels east causing hot, dry gusty northerly winds in its wake bringing vile conditions and the worst bushfire conditions as well especially for this late in the season.

Many places have broken their Hottest April days on record which will get the records here later for history purposes.

Hot, very windy and dusty conditions will continue until a change moves through later this evening but will bring no rain.

Friday night we will see a cold front move through around 9PM bringing some rain with it which is really needed followed by stream showers in a moist onshore southwesterly air stream.

Total falls of 15 to 25mm for the Adelaide area and surrounds with heavier falls of 20-40mm in the hills with ISOLATED falls of 50mm possible by 9AM Monday 16th

While it isn't much as we need a lot to catch up on, it will be, none the less, most welcomed for all gardens and rain tanks.

It's worth checking out the true colour vis satellite on WZ if you can. Can currently see dust being lifted off E.P. and blowing southward.

Very dusty around Clare at the moment, the fire earlier this year really not helping. Haven't seen conditions like this in over a decade I reckon.

Fire danger index peaked at Snowtown just now at 140...150 is considered 'Catastrophic conditions' in grasslands. Horrendous conditions for April. Sustained 67km winds, 78km gusts.

It was horrible around here yesterday. Looking forward to some half decent rain, want to give the lawn its last feed before winter. 15mm would be nice.

I tend to wonder why the Eastern states get so much coverage over small amounts, if they had what we had last 5 days it would headline news around the world..
So is it that we are a backward state as most of Australia see or it's a normal SA..
Think most will know my angle on this.."Headlines always eastern side"..

If one thinks of it as all being relative and the like, including in the population coverage factor, then it is not surprising...

A weather event in the far NW corner of this state gets zero coverage because no-one [interested enough to post details] lives there, and no nearby weather stations....

Just had another burst of heavy rain and wind. Recorded a gust of 51.5 km/h approx 6:50 PM.
