Stars are starting to look nice and crisp in the night sky now. Dry air above. I think we can finally call the wet season officially over. All in all it was a pretty good one(apart from the travesty that was December), but lets not speak of the cyclones wink

This is where I bring the nylex inside, so it doesn't disintegrate, where I stop checking the radar and weather maps, and just make sure I'm watching the Far North thread. grin

About to get a quick shower to wet, (dampen) my 2 loads of washing.
Also, ran around with a bit of poison to bowl over some weeds just before dark. It's had well over 6 hours, so maybe not all in vain.

That big blob off the coast looks nice. Hopefully it can make it then push over the range to here. Wont hold my breath though. Would be extremely happy with 10mm.

Absolutely beautiful

Lovely rain happening, wont amount to much of a total but seems like it will shower all day

I'm doing a big load of laundry, in the hope it will get wet...
Looks like it could, but I think it's pipe dreams.

Had about 35mm this morning before I left for Cairns. Looks like some more on the way going by the radar.

Raining solid from Innisfail to just short of Gordonvale.

Yeah Scott, neighbour reckons it bucketed down for a couple of hours. I see the BOMís gauge must be out in Sth Mission. Big falls in and around Tully Heads as well. Mate just told me he has had 155mm since 9am. Still solid rain here atm.

Scott, slowed down a bit now. Probably another inch, too dark to see and in me pjís mate. Staying inside.

There has been a lot of rain through that Euramo section. A little surprising really. The amounts I mean.

We do well this end out of the Easterly flow, not so good out of the SE flow. I wonder if Hinchinbrook has something to do with it?

Yeah I reckon being on the leeward side of a 3600 foot mountain could have that effect Sf...

The bonus is that even when the tradewinds are blowing 15-20 knots you can still find some fishable areas around the Family islands Dunk and the northern end of Hinchinbrook island....

Sometimes during mackeral season I make the mistake of seeing that its pretty flat off Clump point and head north to the fishing grounds off the Barnard islands only to run into quite nasty seas and have a bugga of a trip home at 10 knots or less into the Sou'easter that's skirted around the eastern side of Hinchinbrook.....its sometimes made even worse if the fish schools have been at the closer and flatter bait grounds off Dunk island that day..lol

77 mm here for the 2 days..
