You know, I've just been sitting here thinking (dangerous, I know ) We've had days of forecasts saying "A possible shower" "Showers" "The chance of a thunderstorm" etc, etc, etc. All of these references to at least SOME form of rain. I'm still waiting to see even a drop here at Kingsgrove. Am I missing something here? *end rant* smile

It's cooled down but still fairly warm in Sydney. Eveen so, the Autumn colours are progressing nicely. Here are some Liquid Ambers in Little Digger Park in Roseville.

Not the only one frown

Btw there’s a decent NW cloud band forming for late April. Hopefully it gives the interior a drink.

Nice pic Steve. Geez though, the autumnal foliage colour change is late this season.

Just for the record, the Terrey Hills radar page this morning stated that it would be back on line on the 21/04/2018. Obviously we had passed that time frame.
This afternoon, this has been updated to the 30/04/2018 at 1.00 pm.
Hope there are no more delays. Not that it matters much at the moment with the lack of rain.
Nicely cooler this afternoon in this southerly. It has also cleared the smoke away. I can breathe again.
Currently 19.2 deg's here with a bit of scud flying in.

Interesting scenarios being thrown out again by models - ACCESS going for a savage ECL; GFS & to an extent EC going for decent cold outbreak with snow over higher peaks.

Looks like a fresh morning is up for Cooma. Some –1° C temps this week, which will most likely be downgraded. Sunny all week, with no subarctic stratocrap in sight. This winter will be a splendid one, methinks; sunny & frosty smile grin

Bloody oath, I love this climate! cheers

That's a good sign that we should get an ECL sometime soon if it has popped up in models again. I wouldn't be surprised if it vanished again but I reckon it's a positive that the models are tossing up these scenarios. Could be an interesting May, we're certainly well overdue for some interesting weather.

Forecasts have ramped up a little now, tomorrow upgraded to medium chance of showers on the coast, slight elsewhere. And high chance on the coast for Saturday and Sunday. I'm not hopeful about Sunday but Saturday looks okay, might be up to 10mm or so- on the coastal fringe at least.

Nice pic Steve777, Those deciduous trees around here haven't really started to turn as yet, some have that slight hint and others still green.
Now that I'm on a computer, some images from tonight.

Interesting that with a load more instability yesterday we had nil, but with this southerly airstream there is substantially more showers about impacting land.

May the fourth be with us!!!

Models getting a bit of concensus about late next week it seems.

Well Access & GFS reasonably similar - EC not as keen HOWEVER it is not a long way from the ballpark.

Long term GFS then goes crazy showing several more cold changes at short intervals after the 4th as well.

This oughta step some temps down a bit. Also means the fire will be lit in the next week most likely grin

EDDY EDDY EDDY - the box brownie pulled out again!! Rather pleasant photos ole chap grin

Sunny out here, cool morning at around 4.

Autumn finally arrives in Sydney
http://www.weatherzone.com.au/news/autumn-arrives-belatedly-in-sydney/527832

That's right. Today finally feels like autumn.

Hopefully this pattern of boringness finally cracks. No el nino, no la nina, no iod, just blandness!

Something we've not seen much of lately:

It was raining lightly when I went ouside just now. Chatswood registered 2.0mm to 9:00 this morning, and hasn't registered anything since, but there are light showers about.

Today was surprisingly sunny from late morning, although it closed in again in the late afternoon. It felt cool in the wind, although OH, hot in a Southerly and probably with long sunny periods like here nearly made it to 22.

The models seem to be pointing to a significant cool change tomorrow week, probably with snow in the Alps, but too little moisture for snow further North, even though it might be cold enough on some the higher places the Shooters Hill.
