Breeze has stoked up fires again at Kabra/Stanwell and the caves.

Like how accurate is that latest outlook from the BOM ... it almost reads like we aren't going to see much rain over the next few months ?

What sort of rainfall do you think Rocky / Yeppoon can get if we have El Nino does that mean necessarily dryer than average Jan-March?

Didnít know which thread to post in as I see we have another one. The Dry season thread still seems appropriate lol. Wow what a horrible last couple of days and looks like another 5 days at least of heatwave conditions. Was 36c last night at 9pm! Last few runs of GFS look tasty for our area in the long term but will have to wait and see I guess. For those still in fire affected areas stay safe and listen to authorities advice.

I have seen below 10% humidity here in Rocky at least once or twice every couple of years since I started observing over the past ten years or so. Definitely more of an occurrence during our driest months. Not to mention how often it gets below that out west.

Yesterday was a new experience for me definitely. I surely felt like I was living in NSW/Vic with how strong those winds were, and the fire conditions coupled with it. 44.4c in Rocky.
The unusual feeling of excitement inside you when even the worst of situations can unfold. I hope not to offend anyone. Just part of being a weather freak I guess..

And I still can't go home. Absolutely no information coming from the local officials about the fire. Still getting it though from unofficial ones though. I honestly feel like someone is planning a surprise party badly except in this case it is a bushfire. I really feel for the people who don't have any idea what is going on within the area. Not everyone is as prosaic as me and the elderly are probably nearly hospital cases by now with the stress of wondering if they have or haven't got a home.

Oh, jeez, bundybear, horrible being on pins - as you say the elderly (me) would be in agony.
