Sounds like a wild time Payshense! Amazing how despite winds being essentially category 2 cyclone strength in parts of Tas it doesn't even rate a mention in the news. Granted it does happen fairly frequently but in the case of the aussie alps they usually mention the 120+ k gusts.

So envious up here in SA, we finally had a drink where I live of about an inch which is the first significant rain in 4 months, which proceeded two separate duststorms. Now another whole week of near thirty degree days lol, average is 21.6

Amazing how little rainfall Hobart had for that many days of recorded precip snowies. I think Hobart would be a rather frustrating place to live for rainfall in comparison to the north and west. Plenty of raindays but rarely large totals.

Evening all,
-1.6 degrees at the shack this morning with a good frost.
We donít get as cold as Liawenee.
Just came home for the night for the daughters birthday and back up in the morning early.
The new shack site is going well and the 300m of road with 50m elevation is complete.
The road will be one hell of a snow board track!
Will need to chain up the Ute on a regular basis to get up with snow on the road!

H2O you need to move up the Lakes! But then what would you have to complain about! Hahahah😛

Sounds really good Stale fish you have a nice lifestyle. Out of curiosity, is your block of land connected to water/electricity or do you have to make your own arrangements.

I have April in Hobart finishing just outside the top 5 for warmth right now ( min+max combined for the mean ). Any month that doesn't make it into the top 5 nowadays almost looks cool to me such is the run we have had in recent years. The top 5 warmest Aprils from 1-5 is 2016, 1989, 2012, 2010 and 1993.

Evening Yep,
Lots of hard work but not afraid of that!
Amazing views of Great Lake.
Tank water and power down at the start of the Drive way.
Going solar for power as Drive way to long.
Currently 3.5 degrees and a cool night ahead

Another smokey boring 20 c day here in Hobart . Absolutely no chance of any change in at least the next 10 days.
Just more belts of Highs at least 7 days out , I'll take bets now that it will be back to 25 plus degree days by mid August smile
Saw another NEWS story on the ABC about retailers that have not kept up with Climate Change and are now stuck with millions of dollars worth of Winter (some of you older folks may remember it ) fashion they can't sell.

Ended up 22.5 c in Hobart and a good couple hotter in the Suburbs and still a balmy 15 c at 9:30 pm .
We may still experience the hottest April 2018 day in the week ahead at this rate.

Summer continues to roll on , 20 plus days keep coming .
Tomorrow and Friday will see 2 days near average and then back to near and over 20 c days again at least the next 10.

Hi all,
Been up at Great Lake for the last 3 weeks, head Home tomorrow afternoon.
Been a Great 3 weeks building roads on the new block to the shack site 400m in total.
Seen 5cm of snow and a few frost so better than Hobartís weather H2O.

Wow , lucky you it sounds like a different world up there.
You'll soon want to be back up there if this dry and heat continues . May 1 and 2 looking very warm indeed so yet another month that we will not see a 20 plus day.

Yes it is looking warm again for this time of year H20
2.5 degrees and 0.6mm this morning.
Hope to see a good shower and snow flurries but not sure the moisture will get here before it warms up.
But anyway a max of 9 degrees up here today.

Some potentially strongish cold changes coming in first few days of May. Might FINALLY help push the main heat away from this area.

We are gradually cooling, nights now regularly below 10, days were hanging around mid 20's last week but will soon struggle to get above 20 in the coming weeks. - FINALLY

Sun still feels so strong though on the skin.

Gee SF - I am quite jealous smile

Hi all, back again.

A bit fresh this morning with the temp dropping below 0C at home for the first time this year, only -0.2C but it is getting steadily cooler overnight as the days go by.

Looking mild next week and as everyone's been saying not much of the wet stuff either. YTD for Brighton is 137mm.. but the worst part is we're coming into May and June where frost and little precipitation is the norm. frown

The BOM is writing off May already as a warm one . I'll stick my neck out once more and predict yet another record breaking heat month. Looking like the first 10-15 days will be dominated by a massive blocking High , I hope it changes ! Otherwise it could be nearly 3 weeks before we see any day near the May average .

Hobart looks like it will average somewhere around 20 - 21 c for the first 6 days of May. insane.

H - looks like only about 3 days now - then into the upper teens.

My read of the models seems to indicate that you are going to see a progression of changes at interval over coming fortnight or so.

Have to wait n see. I suspect any forays into the 20's will be brief from now on hopefully. smile
