Hello Folks:
Here's previous weeks' weather in Mena, Arkansas:

DATE.......HIGH........LOW.........RAIN
Apr..15..52F/11.1C..34F/1.1C...---
.......16..72F/22.2C..35F/1.6C...---
.......17..81F/27.2C..52F/11.1C..---

.......20..68F/20.0C..41F/5.0C...---
.......21..67F/19.4C..45F/7.2C...0.50"/12.7mm

For the week of Apr. 15-21: Mena's Avg. Max.: 71.4F/21.8C; Avg. Min.: 46.7F/8.1C

This past week--again--featured a coolish start and end with a warm mid-week. A dry Pacific cold front passed through on the 18th. Rain on the 21st was from passage (on the 22nd) of another Pacific cold front.
My area was in a Freeze Watch on the morning of the 15th & 16th--due to the near-freezing minimums on those days. This Spring seems to be cooler than usual & the coolness is lasting longer. Oh well, I guess we'll be wanting some of this cooler weather come the high heat of Summer.
Overall Low-around 11:15PM-listed for the 18th (as the morning minimum was a warm & pre-frontal 61F/16.1C).
Forecast for upcoming week calls for somewhat of a repeat in the pattern--a few days of warmth with otherwise cooler conditions and good shower chances by midweek.

For the week of Apr. 22-28: Mena's Avg. Max.: 73.0F/22.7C; Avg. Min.: 49.2F/9.5C

This past week featured another up-and-down temperature profile for maximums with somewhat chilly mornings. Light rain amount on the 22nd was from passage of a Pacific cold front on the previous day. Another Pacific cold front gave the nice rainamount on the 25th; a dry Pacific cold front went through on the 27th & a dry Canadian cold front passed through on the 28th--about all these latter 2 coldfronts did was give chillier mornings, wider daily temperature spreads and lower humidity levels.
The Maximum on the 22nd was at 12:01AM & around 4PM, as the temperatures held steady throughout the day.
I think that "Old Man Winter" has finally decided to retreat back northward as the temperatures for the upcoming week are consistently Springlike with no real shots of colder air. There are very good rainchances late-week. It's hard to beat these warm Spring days.

For the week of Apr. 29-May 5: Mena's Avg. Max.: 74.2F/23.4C; Avg. Min.: 51.2F/10.6C

This past week featured warmer maximums with some lower temperatures thrown in for good measure. The nice thundershowers were courtesy of a Pacific cold front, which passed through on the 4th (the main thundershower line--somewhat gusty winds & fairly heavy rainfall--passed through just after 1PM on the 3rd). Otherwise, the days were excellent for any outdoor activity.
Overall High-12:01AM-listed for the 3rd & the minimum was around 1:55PM (during heavy thundershower activity); the maximum on the 4th was at 12:01AM & around 7:45AM & the Overall Low was around 9:30PM.
Well, this looks like the last of the overall really cool weather for a while: the forecast for the upcoming week calls for fairly warmer maximums (near 85F/~29C) and minimums (near 65F/~18C); with poor rainchances (0-20%).

Hello Fowell: Thanks Much for your Very Kind Words & Interest. Glad you enjoy the weekly/monthly reports; as I enjoy compiling the numbers. Have A Great One, Good Buddy.

*=This tied the Rec. High Max. for the Date (set in 1941)

Well, it seems we went right into early-Summer with the above-normal warmth this past week (compared to the normal). Totally dry conditions, also--with not that much in terms of cloudcover; aside from morning cloudiness at the start of a couple of the days. Warm & humid-feeling on the afternoons. We could use some rainfall as the ground is looking fairly dry at present.
It appears that the "Bermuda High" (and "Ring of Fire"--thundershower areas around the periphery of the High) is already in place over my area of the US.
A dry & week Canadian cold front passed through on the 7th.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for better shower chances from Tuesday evening into Wednesday with continued above-normal & warm temperatures. If it's this hot halfway into Spring, I wonder what Summer will hold for my area?

For the week of May 13-19: Mena's Avg. Max.: 77.2F/25.1C; Avg. Min.: 56.0F/13.3C

*=This Tied the Rec. High Max. for Date (set in 1941)

This week featured a continuance of the above-average warmth; with a fair bit of humidity as well. Small raintotal was courtesy of a Pacific cold front that managed to push through our area on the 16th.
I was outside--on the 15th--doing yardwork & noticed that the mosquitos are already around. YUCK!
Forecast for upcoming week calls for more warm & muggy days with fair chances for heating/instability showers throughout the week--as we're getting to that time of year when we have an almost daily 20% chance of having such showers.

For the week of May 20-26: Mena's Avg. Max.: 78.8F/26.0C; Avg. Min.: 58.0F/14.4C

A very warm & muggy week with uncomfortable Heat Indexes. The fairly good raintotals were courtesy of a Pacific cold front which barely penetrated my area on the 21st. This front quickly became Stationary and meandered around for a few days--the added moisture enhanced the heating/instability showers that followed on the next days. Areas just to our North had heftier raintotals & Mena just missed another Thundershower cell (just moved to our West; cell was moving from NE to SW) on the 25th. Very Thankful for every drop of rain, as we really need it & the drier parts of the year are fast approaching.
Forecast for the upcoming week calls for unseasonably hot conditions (near daily record-breaking maximums late in the week) and extremely poor rainchances.
Yesterday--Monday--was the Memorial Day holiday here in the US.

For the week of May 27-June 2: Mena's Avg. Max.: 80.5F/26.9C; Avg. Min.: 60.5F/15.8C

This past week featured more unseasonable warmth & uncomfortable Heat Index levels. Passage of an Upper-Level Disturbance caused the showers on the 30th & passage of a Pacific cold front brought the small raintotal on the 2nd. The cell (no thunder heard) was moving fairly quickly (spotty shower areas along this cold front) to the SE; a few pea-sized hailstones fell very briefly during this very short-lived shower. Shortly afterwards, the cell passed and the sun shone like before, with sticky humidity. As per usual, nearby areas to the North & East had better shower activity.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for continued hot conditions and the best rainchances will be for the weekend.

For the week of June 3-9: Mena's Avg. Max.: 82.5F/28.0C; Avg. Min.: 61.7F/16.5C

The relatively cooler maximums early-week were due to the previous cold front that passed through on the 2nd. The latter part of the week was somewhat warmer & more muggy. My area just missed a thundershower cell (moving from N to S) on the 7th & a couple large thundershower areas passed through (moving in the odd direction of from West to East) on the 8th. Mena was truly in the "dry slot" as somewhat heavy thundershower areas missed us just to the South and just to the North. Oh well, at least the cloudcover and cool outflow breezes made things quite pleasant outside for a while. I heard that the town of Mt. Ida (county seat of Montgomery County--the county to the East of Polk County) copped around 5"/127mm rain from the Northern band of showers (in a straight line, Mt. Ida is around 35 miles/56 kilometers East of Mena) and the town of DeQueen (county seat of Sevier County--the county to the South of Polk County [around 40 miles/64 kilometers South of Mena]) copped around 6"/152mm rain from the Southern band of thundershowers. We could really use some rain here, as things are starting to look fairly dry. If the dryness persists, the temperatures will start to climb higher.
Forecast for upcoming week calls for continued hot maximums and the best rainchances are on Monday.

For the week of June 10-16: Mena's Avg. Max.: 84.2F/29.0C; Avg. Min.: 63.4/17.4C

Another warm and mostly dry week--this last full week of Spring (Summer officially arrives here in the NH on the 21st). A nearby Stationary front caused the showers on the 13th. Much heavier heavier showers fell not far to our south & north and my area just got the "blowoff" from those showers (very light rain). Otherwise, the only relief from the hot & sticky conditions was a few days of variable cloudcover.
The upcoming forecast does call for fair shower chances for the middle & later portions of the week, with continued warm conditions.

Enjoy the Summer Wet Snow. Looks like the heat has already ramped up, judging by your post for last week.

We're into early Winter here (which we regard as having started on June 1). After a spell of wet weather, the sun's made a comeback in the last couple of days. It's a fine late evening after a cool, sunny day with highs in the low 60s Fahrenheit. The temperature is now in the mid to high 40s across most of Sydney, low 50s near the coast. There'll be a touch of frost at some inland locations tomorrow morning before another cool, sunny day.

Take care - Steve.

For the week of June 17-23: Mena's Avg. Max.: 85.7F/29.8C; Avg. Min.: 64.8F/18.2C

This past week featured somewhat cooler (but just as muggy) afternoons, with--Thankfully--a couple nice raindumps. The showers--and refreshingly cooler temperatures--on the 20th were from a Pacific cold front that managed to edge its way through my area. This front meandered around slowly near the Arkansas/Louisiana border, became a Stationary front and then moved back Northwards as a Warm front, producing the thundershower activity on the 23rd.
Summer officially arrived here in the NH on the 21st and this weather was fairly typical.
Very Thankful for the rain, as the forecast for the upcoming week calls for hotter tops and extremely poor (around 10%) rainchances.

@Steve777: Hey, Good Buddy! Yes, I do enjoy the warmth of Summer (makes my arthritic joint feel better and more limber), but our heat usually comes with (energy-sapping) higher humidity levels; so sometimes you have to take the bad with the good. I also much enjoy the longer daylight times (on the 21st, Mena enjoyed a Sunrise of 6:04AM & Sunset of 8:33PM). Glad you are getting useful rains & now warm sunshine. Are you in a bushfire-prone area? Have A Great One, Good Buddy.

Hello Wet Snow.

I live in a fairly heavily built-up area about 10 km / 6 miles from the centre of Sydney, so I'm not at risk here.

Sydney is largely surrounded by eucalypt forest, much of it in national parks. Areas of forest penetrate well into the suburbs where the land was too rugged for housing development and useless for farming and so remains in more or less its natural state. One of my favourite places is Lane Cove National Park just a 5 km / 3 mile drive away.

Beautiful, but bushfire risk is the downside. Suburbs on the fringe of bushland are at risk, like Menai and Voyager Point in fires in April this year (very late in the season, in fact after the fire season had finished). Our fire brigades and volunteers do a great job of staying alert and prepared, and fighting outbreaks and preventing or at least minimising loss when fires happen.

For the week of June 24-30: Mena's Avg. Max.: 87.2F/30.6C; Avg. Min.: 65.8F/18.7C

This week featured more warmth & mugginess. The wonderful & much-needed raindump earlyweek was due to an Upper-Level Disturbance. Afterwards, the next few days had hardly a cloud in the sky; more clouds in the sky--providing brief relief--the last couple days.
I have a good friend who lives in the Dallas, Texas suburb of Lancaster and he says that it is becoming so dry there that even the weeds are starting to die. My area could really do with another raindump or two.
I forgot to mention in my previous post, that a few days earlier, Death Valley, California hit 120F/48.8C (!) and we're barely into the Summer season here in the NH!
Forecast for Mena this upcoming week calls for even warmer conditions & the best chances for seeing any rainfall is after mid-week. If Mena continues on this fairly dry streak, we will edge closer to seeing tops around 100F/37.7C.

@Steve777: Thanks so very much for your in-depth reply. So glad that you live in a non-bushfire prone section of Sydney. Yes, I have a very good Aussie Mate who lives in Menai (we remark how he lives in Menai & how I live in Mena--he is 12 days older than I am--I love trains & he works for the railroad). I never get tired of seeing your Beautiful countryside & towns & cities as per Google Streetview. It is very nice that many Aussie cities (of any size) have a plethora of greenbelt areas/parks in them & are ringed by forested areas. Have A Great One & Blessings, Good Buddy!

July 4th is the Independence Day celebrations here in the US.
