Cant see why not, the bom have had a chance of T-storm in their forecast for the past 4 days now.

That hasn't been a full proof reason many times in the past tbh.

True, but I still can't see why not!! LOL laugh

Actually whilst taking photos of the Moon this evening there was some very distant lightning out to sea, I just couldn't jag a bolt and moon.

Cant believe there is some showers popping up on the TH radar as it's been that long.
I'm the same Homer, I'd be happy with a shower at least.

Sydney looks ripe for convection the basin is sitting at 18-20 degrees, along with a E-NE running from the afternoon up until now. Although since it is almost June I don't know if these conditions will amount to much.
Beautiful pics as usual Eddy.

This is the 2nd time this year where it's dry for weeks and suddenly decides to rain the same day i wash my car.

Guess i'll be washing my car more often.

Interesting read looks like a number of comparisons are being made to the 1982 drought, although that drought was brought on by an El Nino.

Lovely Autumn trees Eddy.

Around here, many trees are nearly finished, some have just started in the last couple of weeks.

----

I was outside a little while ago. It wasn't raining, but it had been. The roads were wet. The radar looks good, although as other posters have noted, it is exaggering. It's been a while since I bothered checking. Maybe there'll be a few millimetres overnight. It's a bit like our Victorian or SA colleagues, getting excited over a few millimetres.

I would've thought Vivid was responsible for the rain. Sydney weather is prone to spoiling big events be it man made or astronomical.

Luckily my decision to move my Vivid visit a day earlier (last night) at the last moment proved to be crucial, temp was good and pretty comfortable considering time of year.

Shot from the Cahill expressway at 8 sec, f6.3 and ISO 200

Have been looking toward the east tonight but haven't seen any lightning despite the tracker showing some.

7.8 mm at Bankstown AWS as at 12:40. Bankstown AWS highest daily rainfall since the 26th of February.

If only it would continue on throughout the night.

Got the short straw here, 1.2mm

PS there are gusty SW winds as far as the eye can see in the forecasts so it is panning out exactly like what happened after the May 11th cold front. I think there were SW winds for about a week after that and this week looks similar.
