Drop the 7 off the front of your May rainfall total and its close to what we got here in Shellharbour for May ! Driest Autumn I can ever recall, but I am sure statistically there is drier.

Wynnum Nth May 2018 Summary -
Cool with below average rain.

It is realized the temperature averages change with the end of each month, but unlike previous months, the change during May was very significant - a sudden large temperature drop after the 11th, which stayed below for the remainder of the month.

Also so far this year the Year To Date temperature anomaly has continued negative, unlike previous years since I began records at this site ( 2013 ), where positive anomalies prevailed.

Wynnum Nth 2018 Autumn summary -

Temperature Anomaly - minus 0.85C.

Rainfall - 328.8mm ( average 322.8mm )

It's been a very dry Autumn in Sydney, especially in the South West. Coastal areas did a bit better from activity that didn't penetrate far inland. Sydney's outer West near the Blue Mountains did locally better from hit or miss storms early in the season.

Here are the stats for Sydney area, showing monthly rainfall, avaerage rainfall and percent of average:

Sydney (Observatory Hill - 7 km inland on the Harbour)
Code:
Mar-18	Apr-18	May-18	Autumn
118.8 23.2 23.2	165.2
130.8	127.9	118.6	377.3
 91% 18% 20% 44%

Bankstown (24 km inland)
Code:
40.6	11.0	11.4	63.0
98.7	84.5	65.7	248.9
41%	13%	17%	25%

Penrith (55 km inland)
Code:
78.6	22.6	3.2	104.4
76.6	48.9	37.5	163.0
103%	46%	9%	64%

The headline for the climate trend graphs calls May "Warm and Very Dry".
The one for the monthly weather report is "May 2018 third driest". Drier May months were in 1927 and 2006, with 2002 equally dry.
A shower of 1.2 mm on the 30th followed 39 rainless days.

The autumn report (pending) shows this autumn and last as rivals for warmest in my 19-year record. It was very dry, like those of 2002, 2005, 2006, and 2008.
