Perhaps a chance of a spout offshore. Might head down with the cam soon to see if anything pops up, some dark red echoes on radar.

Had about 5 mins of fine drizzle in Wollongong just before. Went to SW Sydney earlier and it was partly cloudy up there but south of Waterfall the cloud built up and it has been cloudy down here all arvo.

Those showers inland are interesting. There were lots of little cumulus clouds out there so I'm not surprised that there are many little cells.

Chance of a storm too! grin Here and in Sydney.

Ps I wonder if we should have made a thread.

And also Wednesday looks really good on the models with E/NE winds very high into the atmosphere and 500mb temps a bit on the cool side. Should be some very productive rainfall in coastal areas at least.

Yeh mate. Next few days should be interesting.
I get what you mean about the inland development today. There was some really good cloud development in Sydney but it just didn't take off. Hopefully that changes in the next few days.
Like Quaggy said the other day, I need to get my car washed again and start excavating my new project. Guaranteed to get the rain started!! smile

Well, the Sydney forecast says 25-50 mm of rain for the next two days.

But then, it said 8-20 for today. I'm not sure when that was supposed to happen by - midnight? The 9:00 reset? In any case, those showers have been edging Westwards at a glacial pace all day and are now crossing the Eastern suburbs and Northern beaches.

Might be worth a thread, although outside of the coastal parts of the Hunter and Port Stephens areas, it hasn't been much so far.

Nelson Bay should crack 200mm for the month by tomorrow.

Bit more than me so far.
0.6mm for the month (and event) in the Vantage Pro.
0.9mm in the Nylex 250.

In the past half hour have had 1.6mm so well and truly ramping up here. poke

EC has 2 fronts in the space of a few days, on the weekend and a stronger one on the 11th turning eventually into a southern tasman ECL. If it hooks up with a NW cloudband could be the one to deliver for the inland.

Will allow temps to plummet tonight - can feel it already. See north of us has a huge upgrade, we’re still same at 10-20mm but least the chance of a storm - may be small hail around too.

It's just interesting that they're forecasting heavy rain for Sydney while keeping the winds SW. I just hope they're right about the rain!!!
