Lucky you WR, today isn't the coldest day this month but I'm finding it hard to get warm, no breeze, light rain and the temp is currently 13.9c.

Storms firing up off the coast now; can hear faint thunder!

Gee that line is thickening nicely. Looks like northern Burbs of wollongong will get smashed - if those colours hold, flash flooding is a threat as it's been so dry. Possible small hail too.

Hopefully the southern line will fatten.

Genuine wintry day that is for sure, temp dropping since 11am.
I doubt we get our forecast max of 17C either.
Only a trace (0.2mm) of rain recorded since 9am.

Scroll to bottom. Wentworthville? Looks like an AWS. No rainfall but there is a visibility report.

Anybody seen this or know it? Has a code of 067WNT which is not the standard 6 digit code.

Sounds like a private weather station?

I thought private but then why that one? There are dozens and dozens of other PWSs to choose from on the private networks.

Plus, which PWS can do visibility?

I'd assume that Laurier, who runs that site, may know the owner?

Yeah was going to ask him but I think he's busy with other stuff.

Seems to have one problem after another on that site be it failing hardware or crappy feed from BoM.

Temperature was all over the place last night, at 2am the temp was 11c by 4am it was 13.5 and by 7am it was 10.4c. I think there was a bit of a NE breeze at times last night.

Good to see some sun this morning, time to get all the washing on the line!!

You probably can contact Laurier, I think you would get a reply. He's been posting a lot lately on another forum so he couldn't be that busy. I can ask him if you like?

And I'm also pretty sure he's been trying to fix that site in the last few months.

Coastal stations near Sydney jumped under a NE'er overnight, e.g. Sydney Harbour jumped from 14.4 to 18.5 from 8:30 to 9:15 PM last night, stayed around there until 4:00 AM then dropped back to the low teens as the land breeze reasserted itself.

----

Partly cloudy in Sydney this morning with a bit of drizzle / light rain earlier. There was a light fog under clear skies late yesterday evening. It was chilly, still and very damp once the rain cleared early evening.

Still only 12, but it should warm quickly if/when the sun comes out.

Feels like an early spring day, warm with a good solid sea breeze blowing.

Its supposed to get to 20c today, but I reckon this cloud might keep a lid on temps today.

For me that is one of the 'experiences' that makes Thredders one of my all time favourite places; disembarking the Kosci Express at the top of Thredders Crackenback when the wind is howling. Doesn't matter how many layers you have on it goes straight through you.

The lifties manning that howling, roaring spaceport really earn their dosh in those conditions.

Coming over the ridge going up Sponars or Antons T bar is even more confronting in my experience. Pellets just fly at you straight off the main range

I've experienced both those scenarios and both are equally unpleasant!!

Eddy was correct before. The cloud is certainly keeping a lid on temps today and with no sun, it feels quite cold outdoors.
Fireplace is keeping me nice and toasty indoors. smile
