Rain band seems to be holding together for Stormy.
Wow at Norah Head - 64.4 mm's since 9 am.
A mix of sunny periods and cloudy this morning - mostly cloud though. None of the wet stuff though.

Had a top temp of 15.2c, once again well short of the forecasted temp of 18c. Looks like a lot of places around the Hunter fell short of their maximums.

Norah Head seems to be the place to be today for rain lovers, which looks like an isolated very high fall of 88 mm since 9:00.There were falls further North in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie areas in the 25 - 50 mm range, with 54 at Nords Wharf South of Swansea.

On the lower North Shore,it has been mostly cloudy with occasional light showers and occasional sunny breaks, with rainfall totalling a couple of mm since 9:00.

----

GFS shows what looks like a strong cold change next weekend, with winds S-SW, so it would be good for snow although not so good for rain in coastal areas.

Some steady rain falling now, only fitting to have some good solid rain on the June Long weekend, as the 11th anniversary of the June 2007 Pasher Bulker Superstorm.
And cold as well, 15C maximum today, 16C the 2 days before, so very wintry to boot.

The short days, especially early sunsets, are what I like least about Winter. I don't mind the cold.

If you think it's getting dark early, you're right. Around now we are getting the earliest sunsets of the year, 4:52 PM in Sydney from June 8-16. From then, sunset will start getting later, very gradually at first.

On the other hand, the latest sunrise is not for a few weeks, from June 29 - July 2 (7:01 AM). This morning, the sun rose at 6:56 AM.

The Solstice is Thursday week 21 Jun 2018 8:07 pm.

Time and date

Creek behind my house has become a raging river. This only happens 2-5 times a year. Think I got all that rain Norah Head got.

Damn talk about a storm falling off Norah head with a big 88.4mm while Cessnock about 51km away with a measly 3.4mm.

Looks like a bit of a rain train happening for you. How was the slow cooked lamb shoulder?

There have been some short solid downpours here today about 30mm since 9am.
