After nine hours. It was magical! First time Iíve cooked it. But my experience got me through.

It was bucketing down just now as I caught the train home from a local club. Fortunately, I remembered to take an umbrella. An orange cell passed over the Sydney CBD then over the lower North Shore. OH is now on 11 mm, 7 of that in the past hour. It seemed like more.

Sydney's East is doing well, but not much has penetrated West of about Olympic Park.

EDIT: Chatswood received 8 mm between 21:00 and 22:00. Seemed like more.

Iíve had no rain gauge since April 2015. I think Iíve had well over 100mm today.lucky if the rain stopped for 5 mins.

Wow. That's pretty good.
I'd be lucky if we had more than 5 minutes of rain!

10mm to 9am recorded at Maitland Airport, we probably got a few more mm here, will have to check Belmore Bridge.
By comparison Tocal just to the north got 25mm, and Williamtown a whopping 44mm. (not sure how our friends in the Cessnock area fared)
Another cold day forecast again today, although cloud cover has kept the minimum to 11C.
Looking at 4C minimum tomorrow if it clears.

Looks like another showery day coming up. A bit warmer today too.

It's been a sunny morning here, although it's cloudy to the East and the radar shows shower cells marching Northwards just off the coast. It's already 16-17 degrees across Sydney, looking to easily overshoot the forecast maximum of 18, after mostly undershooting this month.

Chatswood is up to 61 mm for June so far, spread on 8/11 days.
Sydney OH has received 78.6 mm on 9/11 days.

P.S. for the last week or so the BOM have been late updating the monthly totals and averages page, not until mid afternoon on work days and not at all on weekends. Hopefully that is just the strike and not a permanent change.

Gee next weekend is looking cold, with EC even hinting at snow right up to the Central tablelands if moisture is decent. All models, except GFS, have the cold pool lingering right across the weekend and into the early week IF it happens.

Nice picture Eddy.

I was in the Eastern suburbs this afternoon and had a look at Clovelly Beach and La Perouse. It felt quite cold with blustery winds and occasional light showers. The Eastern half of the sky was overcast, while the Western half was blue sky with scattered, fluffy white clouds. Out to sea it looked a bit like Eddy's picture.

Away from the immediate coast it was mostly fairly sunny with little or no rain.

Yes, Kino, next weekend looks like it might be quite interesting. It will be threadworthy if it holds.

Thanks Steve777

It looked to be clearing late this arvo, but it closed in again for a quickfire 10mm. Judging by the radar it definitely looks to be clearing, maybe a passing shower overnight. Looking forward to some sun these next few days!!

Near enough to a full rainbow this afternoon.

Yeah great stuff.

Going to be a pretty cold night here with temp at 7įC and still only 93% humidity so it's still got a way to go I reckon. Completely clear skies after a cool day so would make sense.

Yeh, sensational pic as usual Eddy.
8.6 here atm WR. Certainly going to be a coldie tonight under the clear skies and lighter winds.
Some pretty cold temps already all along the Tablelands.
Certainly looking forward to this week of SW'erly changes, culminating in a cold, very wintery weekend.
Could be some snow in strange places.

Night time temps not quite as cold as forecast, down to 6C, instead of 4-5C.
Heavy fog though this morning, but a fine day and 19C forecast.

Thanks Guys

Overnight low was 6.3c and 13.5mm from yesterday's showers.
Today blue skies as far as the eye can see, it will take a few days to dry out.
Looking forward to this weak front to move through tonight, may even spark an offshore lightshow.

Some steady light rain here atm.
For some strange reason, the band affecting me disappeared off the radar in the last frame. All of the rest of the radar was unaffected??

Temps will probably rise later this afternoon with some sunshine as this cloud mass passes, but some places have a fair way to go to reach their maximum forecast temps.
Badgerys Creek is still just 6.9 degrees and Camden is 7.0 degrees.

*edit* Rain has now increased in intensity and is now very steady.

The Terrey Hills radar must have malfunctioned. All the rain disappeared off the last frame, but the Appin radar is OK.

The cloud band rolled in around sunrise and looks fairly solid.

Coldest morning of the year so far at OH (8.5) and near the coast and first sub 10 there since May 31.

See my post above.
Not ALL the rain disappeared. Just the band that was in the metro.
It's still visible now on the radar but the radar appears to be not updating.
