Bushy Park at 27m got the lowest max in the state with 3.4!! That's a pretty decent inversion. Nearby Ouse only 4.0.

Ben Trewin would be the best person to confirm this but I think Bushy Park is the only place in Australia at/near sea level that has recorded a daily maximum freeze ( 0.0 degrees on July 6 1973 + June 19 1992 ). Hobart had maximums of 7.5 and 6.0 on those two days

Even Ben's brother Blair might be useful in confirming this.... laugh

Yesterday's max stood overnight as temps were again low and the temp at 9am still hadn't exceeded 3.

Evening all,
Just got back from Great Lake tonight after some massive frosts and hail showers today.
One shower at 1pm dropped 2mm of rain and hail in less than10mins.
Every shower had hail.

Looks like some interesting weather in the next 24hrs for the North and maybe something for the South in a week or so.

17.4mm overnight and some decent wind to go with it. 4 times our June 2017 total already...

Looks like some interesting weather this weekend with good falls for most of the state. Maybe some heavy snowfalls on the higher areas above 1000m.
Been a dry June with only 3mm so far.

Slightly rough first half of last night, but not too bad. 19mm in the gauge this morning, bit over 53mm for the month. Looks like a decent run of frost from here until sometime next week. Particularly so Sunday/Monday/Tuesday.

Evening all,
Up at Great Lake and there was a dusting above 1100m at 5pm and sleet showers atm.
Hoping it turns to snow as the showers get heavier!
Had 11mm at home since 9am

Afternoon all,

Some decent rainfall overnight with a surprising 35mm to 9am here at home, accompanied by some gusty southerlies earlier this morning, good to see the place greening up! Although areas down around Kingston could do without the damp stuff..

Bit fresh up there Sf! Gotta keep the heater stoked i reckon. smile

As Snowies mentioned, looks like a dominate high pressure giving us some frosty mornings over the coming few days, looking good by the end of nextweek with something possibly on the cards.

Really localised frost this morning, temperature variation over short distances was large, temps on the car thermo ranged from -2 at home through to +7 20km east.

A mundane June that is likely to finish up close to average for temperature: slightly colder than normal nights and slightly milder than average days, and quite hapless for snow.
