Pretty boring dry season as expected didn't get much of the good finishing rain that we sometimes get in Mid March/April and been dry for the last 7 weeks.

Just wish the two X factors would behave that is the mozzies which are persisting even down the beach and the day temps seem to be still fairly high hanging around the mid 30s.

At least its got a bit cooler at night....

Dry season conditions clicked right in now with a high in the bight and strong Easterlies blowing .

Broome had gusts up to 59km/hr and minimum yearly low of 14 deg only 9 deg 10 kms out of town at West Roebuck.

At least the strong winds have got rid of most of the mozzies...at last... yay..

Do you wear stinger suits at this time of year?

Personally I never wear them although some one got stung by a jellyfish a couple of weeks ago.

Had a run of hot still days for a few weeks ago and that is when they seem to be around the most, rare in the cooler waters.

These winds plus the receding sea temp will probably send them on their way .

Wind blowing a gale in some areas with the massive high in the bight .

E to ESE winds around the Kimberley have been between 60 - 80km/hr .

Roebuck Bay pretty rough this morning and lots of dusts being scuffed up with the wind around town.

Apparently the local Salmon love these conditions though especially around the Crab Creek area and surrounds.

Easterlies been blowing all week now ,quite strong at times especially night and mornings.

The beach has been amazing especially in the afternoons with small waves but otherwise flat but still stunning.

Been up to 60km/hr locally and minimums fairly brisky 11deg in Broome this morning but just 10kms away along the other side of the bay at West Roebuck it got down to 4 deg.

Its been a fairly cold last 3 months compared to last year in these parts.
Easterlies bought more cold air in from the inland regions and some cold minimums to boot.

The wind was quite brisk too with lots of places recording over 50km/he ESE last night and yesterday .

West Roebuck had a 3.4deg this morning along with Halls Creek 6.7 deg.
Pilbara had some coldies too Newman got down to 2.2 deg and Coondewanna was almost freezing with 0.2deg .

Probably the coolest dry season up here for awhile.

Cool minimums this morning Broome 7.2 deg while Halls Creek got down to 2.4 and Fitzroy Crossing was 4.5 deg.

So far this month Broome minimum is averaging 11.5deg while the average is 14.9.

Maximum average is 30.3deg and so far averaging out at only 27.8 deg.

You wouldn't expect Broome this time of year to have a lower minimum than the Souht West town of Manjimup which had 6.9 deg we had 6.3 .

Other areas in the Kimberley cold as well Halls Creek 4.7 ,Curtin 4.2 and that little known place the other side of the bay West Roebuck got down to 3.7deg at 6.30 this morning....

The low and front from the south has dragged the moisture to Broome and we have a very overcast day with 1.2mm recorded just a dust settler for a few days.

Only 20 deg and pretty cool at the moment and wind up to 46km/hr from the WSW.

Humidity is creeping up over the North, still nice ish cool mornings in Darwin 20-21deg, but you can feel the change of season in the air. Was a cracker of a fog out Humpty Doo way the other morning, just like a down south pea souper. BTW those cold mornings two weeks ago, how low did it get out Mt Elizabeth way ? I swagged it out there in August 2012 in a light frost on the ground.

Yes I know that Airport very well, having flown in and out of there for work many times. Those sub 4c temps there and at Yandi in 2014-2015 were a shock to the system for a 35 year resident of Darwin.... lol !
