Great pictures Orebound and Hurricane. I couldn't find a crocodile, but here's an Eastern Water Dragon sunning itself on a log by the Lane Cover River near Sydeny earlier today: Eastern Water Dragn by SteveSeven77, on Flickr The creature is about 60 to 65 cm long from nose to tail.

Just a test on a 180° panorama. Sunrise at Michelago looking South. Thought this method would be good for storms.

The Monarch Butterfly's wing, in my DA gallery ... http://wildwassa.deviantart.com/art/The-Butterfly-Wing-94819653... and an Australian Alpine Dingo also in my DA gallery ... http://wildwassa.deviantart.com/art/Australian-Alpine-Dingo-93018551Some viewers, when I first posted this image on my DA site thought that the dog wasn't an Australian Alpine Dingo. I took the photo and other shots to Taronga Park Zoo, after a suggestion from a Kosciusko National Park Ranger and the experts at the zoo confirmed that it was an Australian Alpine Dingo. Warren.

Great pics wassa, re the Dingo -
I'd be fairly sure the material round his cheeks is from rolling in something that smells just wonderful to him, but terrible to us.
Probably a rotted carcass of an animal.
I'd also like to mention the prevalence of dingos in Vic Alpine area, plenty of them and in a naturally occurring variety of colours.

samboz, G'day and thank you. The shot of the Dingo was taken in the Victorian ranges about 25 klicks from Mansfield. I can't remember the name of the mountain ... possibly Little Gin Gin or The Bluff.
Warren.

An old Eastern Grey that followed me around for several days, when I spent time in the Naas River Valley. She may have been an injured Roo that was in foster care and used to humans. A possum that I came across caught in a trap set for feral dogs. When she was released she appeared to be unharmed ... and scooted straight up the closest tree. The wildlife can be some-what brutishly treated ... in my neck of the bush. And, the ferals are treated even worse. ... and not all encounters are pretty either. A dribbling cow. Warren.

Ok. Here is my first real attempt with the new lens. Not perfect but not bad for a first go. Bloody difficult in slightly windy conditions. Peacock (jumping Spider). Don't know the species. [img:center] [/img]

Macro photography certainly has its own set of challenges not least of which is depth of field. I think it took me just 4 weeks of getting my macro to invest in a macro slide rail and 2 remote trigger for my flashes. So addictive though! I'm still doing it on the extreme cheap. Lens reversing lol Shopping list is - One of the canon macro lenses. Slide rail Flash Probably get stuck into that list this christmas if the minister for finance sees it fit Nice work Brett! Were you spending time looking for one of those or was it just a coincidence? Jumping spiders seem to have a bunch of personality (for a spider) Never realized they were the biggest group of spiders until I started to spend more time looking at the macro world.

Hey chris. To be honest most of the jumping spiders i find in the garden. They are actually quite easy to find, you just have to really look. I tend to jist pick a bush and stare and i will generally see one in under 5 min. Definitely the most personality filled spider. Almost custom made for macro.
