Looks like we are to get some rain the next couple of days.
A front tomorrow morning and then another Thursday afternoon - hope that GFS is correct, looks hopeful!

Severe weather warning out. Metro Area included.
Weather Situation: Strong to gale force northwesterly winds develop over parts of South Australia overnight, ahead of a cold front which moves rapidly across the State on Tuesday. The front is expected in the Adelaide area mid to late Tuesday morning, bringing squally winds and showers.
Damaging northwesterly winds, averaging 50 to 70 km/h with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h, are forecast to develop about the Mount Lofty Ranges and adjacent eastern slopes, and near western and southern coasts, after midnight tonight. These damaging winds are expected to extend north to the Flinders Ranges on Tuesday morning.

Yer more wind than rain for this one unfortunately, Thursday's one the better for rainfall.

Decent westerly belt for this one that'll go for the next few hours before dying down.

0.4mm from the front at home and not much in the way of wind, southern areas got the best of it down towards Noarlunga way.

Not imagining it, quite dry across the state. Only 29mm at home to our average of 80 odd.

Adelaide well below average too to this time of year. Just been bombarded with high pressure systems.

2.6mm to 9am in Seaford Meadows.

Very strong node of the LWT (Long Wave Trough) will keep peaking around WA longitudes or thereabouts over the coming week with multiple cold fronts rotating up and down around it. A bulk of that flow will be fairly zonal apart from a good SW punch on thursday where more significant rainfall will push inland for a while before a cold pool towards evening although fairly short-lived.

After that the LWT will dominate with countless fronts but a lot of them falling short or just clipping the southern coastline. Certainly delivering an impressive swell though.

Signs are getting better for moisture to start coming into the eastern Indian as recent cold SST anoms die off but the length of this is in question. Cannot see a positive IOD though and will be surprised if we have anything more than El Nino Modoki....neutral the most likely I would think. Rainfall should pick up towards late winter and spring but for some areas that will be too late but others may assist for some good finishes to the season.

TS cool

I'm not feeling too confident on the rain front for today at the moment, it doesn't look like much on the radar. More to come later maybe?

Still thickening up, once combined with the colder air should see general 8-15mm across the metro area, isolated 15-25mm into the hills quite comfortably.

I have little doubt snow flurries are occurring on Mount Bryan tonight.
Whether enough falls to accumulate is another thing.

Around 5.5 degrees in Clare, Pws @ 608m in Hallett currently 3.8 degrees with light precip. Implies temperatures between 0.5-1 degrees on the summit.

Had hoped to get up there but the cold air came in a little too late. Only got cold enough right around sunset.

13mm last I checked here, currently raining rather heavily. 19mm at Sevenhill so the catchments up here finally getting a soak.

Lofty is sitting between 3 and 4, could sneak some sleet or the odd flake

I wish Mt Lofty was more lofty, another 2km or so would suffice.

Yeah maybe some sleet on back edges of cells but it's not a particularly cold event overall. Upper support dwindles as lower temps drop a little more overnight.

Just hit 4.9 with the last shower in Clare, dropped below the magical 5 degree mark which from my experience, is when temperatures at the summit of Mount Bryan can touch 0 (provided it receives a similarly heavy shower)
