Night time air attack working the Rosedale fire once again. Really good opportunity for them to get some hours and really world experience in.

Rosedale fire has taken off again in what looks
To be in a different direction under an east
Nor east wind! Emergency warning now issued

Going to be troublesome tomorrow and over the weekend I think. Wont be surprised if this gets a few long haul stike teams on it by the end of the week

1 possible advantage going forward is that the fire is effectively burning out of the bushed/reserve/plantations meaning by the end of the week there might not be much to burn. Risk could be if it spots or moves across grassland to the statbrook park to the south.

I haven't commented past couple of days due to travelling etc. I think one of the factors (at least) in the fire's volatility is the really deep dryness. This is going to be an on-going issue these next couple of months.

Drove past the area this arvo - many, very widely dispersed, areas of activity.

Can vouch (from the Maffra Golf Club perspective) that all grass around here that non-irrigated, is well and truly cured.

Any lighting on the N Gippsland region of the mountains this Thursday will be problematic fire-wise, ..possibly for many weeks to come.
