Pity the bombers left their run for the second half of the season and have missed out on the finals .

The way they have been playing they could have easily beat any side in the top eight.

Poor old Port had a fall from grace after round 16 they were in the top four after 5 straight wins and surging forward.

Then they lost six out of their next seven games admittedly they lost a few of those games by only a few points.

Now after last night's loss they have missed playing in the finals

Suppose you could call that a freefall...

Yep you got that right Mick shame they are playing so well and didn't make the finals by one game.
All good for next year though.
At least Dockers finished the season with a good competitive game which they almost won ...

For premiership contenders:

Richmond look pretty solid for mine but you never know as we have seen in the last couple of years.

Wouldn't rule out the Hawks either as they have been pretty hot in the last few weeks especially if they get their possession game going..

Also the Cats if they get their mojo going in the finals they can beat anyone and it seems like they are pretty much in sync atm.

Eagles maybe if they get to the grand final but they don't seem to play at their best on the big stage at the MCG.

id say Cats are in better form than Hawks at present. Hawks had narrow wins over Essendon and St Kilda, but they were pretty good over Swans.
With two home games, and the way Tigers are playing at MCG, hard to go past a Tigers V Eagles GF. Outsiders would be Melbourne, they are playing into some form but have been a bit hot and cold at times. Depend which Melbourne turns up on the day.

Mason Cox could probably touch anything within a 50 metre radius with his reach.... wink

Eagles should be able to do a job on the Magpies hopefully but the Pies have got a couple of guns coming back into their side especially the likes of Treloar but Pendlebury is going to be a big out for them.

Tigers too strong for the Hawks last night especially after they kicked away in the third quarter.

Going to hard to beat from here in although still at $1.85 to win GF at TABtouch though.

Demons got fire under their belts after missing the finals for so many years .They did a good job on Geelong and basically game decided after a five goals blitz in the first quarter ....

Going to be interested to see how they go in their next game against the Hawks ,probably blitz them as well.

great game over in the west, two good sides going at it. two finals in Melb next week. Massive crowds this weekend too, AFL will be very happy.

Giants did a job on the Swans and can't see Collingwood beating then next week.

Good game last night the Eagles got the ascendancy in the last quarter and finally got to feed their forwards of Darling and Kennedy from their successful breakouts from the centre bounces.

Looking forwards the next round of games .

Good final last night and the Demons were on fire again against the Hawks .
It look a bit ominous at one stage in the last quarter after the Hawks kicked a few quick goals but the Dees came back and answered to secure the game .

Have a feeling the Eagles will have to be at their best to beat Melbourne even with their home ground advantage ..

Collingwood into the preliminary final against Richmond after a good hard fought win against the luckless Giants .

It seemed like the luckless Giants had a lot of trouble penetrating through the Magpies defensive lines which held up to the end.

Can't see them beating the Tigers though.

My prediction was a Pies v Tigers GF but doesn't look like that'll be happening now. Pies v Dees i reckon
