Good showers about in the Derwent Valley as well.
More frozen slush here than snow but flakes stick over the deck.
1.8 degrees Min 1.2 degrees
Good showers headed our way fingers crossed.

A dusting to about 400m on the Hobart side of Mt Wellington. Too dry overnight. The social media post last night of settled snow near sea level further south was probably not quite right. Nothing from Tas Police Alerts suggests anything significant happened overnight. Still a few weeks left for a proper wintery outbreak to happen!

Certainly some snow falling at my place at cradoc. Only remains are on the fire stack or house stairs and cars as it melts immediately. Great to see low snow this winter however.

After Monday nights light snow, the southerly winds and clearish skies lead to a few cold nights, -3.3, -2 and -3.2 this morning. Afternoon and early morning cloud on most days stopped any of the nights reaching -4. Anyway, looks like the rains are closing in to finish off winter for another year.

Yeah was a cold morning Snowies, -8.2 at Liawenee, -4.2 at home around 6.30am which makes it our second coldest night for the year.

I left home for work about 2.15am when the temp was around -2.5, got down to kingston 45 minutes later and there was still ice on the copper pipework on the roof bars of the ute! Fresh thats for sure! shocked

Hi all,
What a day!!!! One beautiful blue bird day here.
21.2 degrees in Hobart and 21 again tomorrow.
Had our first Veg fire today with a fire getting away from the landowner in dry Northern facing bush.
Maybe a sign of things to come.

Where are you H20? No complaints about the heat!!

Hi all,

Showers with hail and the odd clap of thunder this morning.
23mm in the gauge. NW 20-30kts.

Seems like we have all been asleep for a week...

Time for an automatic weather station here! Cheap max/min thermometer died a week or so ago, 3rd one in the last 2 years. And checking the rain gauge every day, for accurate long term observations, cant be achieved while regularly away from home.

Warmest day here yesterday since April 24th. Gusty Northerly winds all day and thunderstorms in the evening to go with it.
More like late spring/summer weather?

Would really like to have known exactly what temp it reached here. Thermometer out of the car fridge was telling me 20 around 3pm.
Strahan recorded 19.7 at 2:30pm

-----------------------------------------------------------------

SF, prospect of low level snow Saturday does look promising indeed.
I wont be surprised to see forecast revised down to 200m. West, South West and South East under 524 thickness from mid afternoon well into the evening. Here's hoping smile

Forecast looks absolutely terrific tomorrow with active storms in the north of the state then snow at low levels by evening in the south. Going to be interesting to watch how everything unfolds. Multi-lows forming around the front could see productive rain/snow totals with a bit of luck. Definitely the winteriest outbreak of the year...

Morning all,
6cm at Tods Corner Great Lake.
Roads have warmed up lately and the snow found it hard to stick even when the temp was -1 degrees.
Had a min of -3 last night.
Had some very strong winds up here and at home with a max gust of 86kmhr at home and an average of 50km hr for some time.
Had 15.2mm for the event and 697mm for the year.
Had a report of a light dusting on the cars at Lower Langley 470m.
