I've got the windows and doors open so the warm air can get in and chase out the lingering Winter cold air.

On the other hand, I've been working on a roof in full sun today and it really felt quite hot.
Home now. The outside temp is 27.3 C and the inside temp is a pleasant 21.7 degrees. I'll be leaving the windows and doors shut. smile

Saturday's westerley's should kill that giving the city the chance to bake.

Looking ahead, cold on Sunday - Monday, but rapidly warming again on Tue-Wed. Similar LP trough coming on Wed, but may have a bit more moisture. Overall September likely to be another warmer and drier than normal month. Seems to be the norm this century.

Here on the coast it's been wetter and colder.

Interestingly, Ulladulla reached 28.5C at 3:38pm before the winds turned southerly. The temp has now fallen about 10C in 10 mins. That's a pretty good effort for right on the coast.

Gosh that North-Easterly is quite frigid stations around the coast in high teens, low 20s. Meanwhile Terry Hills under the North Westerly is at 28 degrees. Currently 30.9 degrees after a high of 32.8 degrees.

High of 18.5 C today at 1,277 m AMSL grin

Hopefully it gets hotter and more exciting...we are long due a proper summer after that dissapointing "winter" we've just endured!

It's not cold inside for once, I can certainly tell that it was warm today. Would've got to at least 30 here, wind was still NWly when I drove through the area at 1pm.

Penrith reached an impressive 32.1 which is a bit warmer than I expected, as was 24.6 at Moss Vale.

Another warm day booked in for Saturday. The airmass is expected to be about a degree warmer at 925mb so should translate to around 32C, but also a lot of cloud predicted so it may not reach 30. Will definitely be warmer for the coast than today because there will be no sea breeze.

Quite an impressive difference between max temps on Saturday and Sunday! Some areas of Sydney predicted to be up to 16 degrees cooler on Sunday with those impressively cold 850 temperatures moving through late Saturday night

I see 31 is forecast across Sydney for Saturday. With 850 temps of 14-15 over Sydney, a Westerly component strong enough to overcome the sea breeze and not much cloud, that looks about right. It might even get a bit (but not much) warmer.

After the heat there's a late, strong cool change, with 850 temps over Sydney down below zero Sunday morning. As usual with changes this year, there's very little moisture North of the Snowys, so no Central Tablelands snow, even though it looks cold enough. Also little or no rain.

Looking ahead, the dry pattern seems to have returned for now.

Ive noticed the ants building in the last few days. They arent perfect, but can often indicate rain 7-10 days out I have observed. Doesnt seem to be much in the models....so lets see what happens. We need to get some back to back events. This 30mm then 8 weeks with no rain shiite is not cutting it.

Yes GringosRain, ants building is a sign of rain I have seen them building high mounds around there holes and we have got heavy rain, but it might only be a heavy storm, not the weeks of rain we need here.

Not me. Ant activity and upcoming rain have a zero correlation in my experience.

I used to be in the garden sometimes and watch the ants go crazy ape bonkers with their nests and made a mental note. Nothing ever happened rain wise.

Richmond getting some of that warm dry air mixing down atm. Dew point has dropped below zero in a strong NNW wind. Only site in the basin benefiting from it as I type.

I'm expecting a top of 32C in Sydney and Gong tomorrow, maybe could reach 33 in Penrith or one of the other stations.

CT's forecast is also odd:

"Partly cloudy. Slight chance of a light shower in the west in the evening, with the slight risk of a light dusting of snow above 900 meters in the southwest. "

Just proves manual input in them smile
