With all this cloud cover about and the rain band coming through, does it lessen our chances of storms this afternoon?

Not sure if they were meant to be discreet systems or embedded in the rain.

Yep, starting to feel like less and less of a storm day as the afternoon wears on and the cloud cover increases. Maybe just patchy rain later on for Bris?

Big write-off today. Patchy rain and embedded heavier showers looking like the most likely outcome now.

Warwick Eye - total 21mm for this event in NE Warwick - 14mm to 9.00am and 7mm since 9.00am. You have no doubt faired better but based on our balances over the past few months you must be owed at least 15mm. Cheers.

Today was never going to be a storm day and wouldn't have a clue why bom put that in the forecast. Anyway ignored it all day and can see tomorrow being the same.

I've just driven from Ashgrove to Ferny Grove and I heard two rumbles of thunder when I was filling up with fuel just before I got to Ferny Grove smile

Picking up some nice cracks of thunder from the cell approaching Brisbane from the north west. Hopefully some rain to come as well.

Yeah, if something was going to happen I think it was always more likely to be later tonight or overnight, probably more in the form of rain with embedded heavier falls though.

2mm from an afternoon shower. According to radar it looks like something is brewing for tonight. Some 50mm rain event would really help. Not too much to ask for in my opinion.

Indeed, it doesn't usually pay off for us here near the coast when steering is weak and most of the action originates inland.
