Bucketing down in Noosa now. Might be sticking around for a while by the looks of the radar.

Still hammering down, Rene Street is flooded right across into Leo Alley Road. The boss's Land Rover parked on the side of the road has water up to the wheel hubs.

Switched to Gympie radar and the Doppler has some very strong winds approaching that area. Plus looking at WZ storm tracker I am not sure if Marburg is having a slight bug or it is not interacting with storm tracker.

Some of the reports from the STW
2cm hail has been reported at Nambour and Fernvale
56mm has been observed in 15 minutes at Coolum West

Glad we have Marburg but it really is a step down from MT Stappy. The amount of money spent on Stappy upgrade was unbelievable for it to continue to crash or is it like so many things lately and getting hacked.

I swear Stapy spends more time offline during the storm season than it does on (kidding). We've had 6+ months of nothing and the very first week of the storm season it goes out. Makes you wonder.

Nothing to report here. Looks like everything has been downgraded once again for the Southern Downs.

Just drizzle and thunder here so far, looks like that might be over soon too.

I really hope Mt Stapylton is up for tomorrow.

ARE YOU SERIOUS? that's what happened last year when it was offline for months - they said they had to get someone from Germany to fix it!

For Thur-Sat, EC in one run has gone from a strong slow moving trough to a massive ridge blasting everything away by Thursday night. In just one run, a huge downgrade like that. Watch for the other models to follow.

I hope so. I for one was looking forward to a rainy weekend for a change.

I personally don't like to trust the 00z runs of models compared to the 12z runs, especially at longer ranges. I find they can be more erratic. But the objective skill scores are only marginally better for the 12z run of EC compared to the 00z runs in the Southern Hemisphere outside of the tropics so there might be some subjectivity in my impression.

Thanks Ken, I've forgotten about that. Is three days really considered longer range though? It does seem to be an outlier but EC does have this knack for being the first model to usually catch onto a new trend...

Some of the rain rates about have been outstanding. To that point, the general rain around for end of sept , early October has been very well received, usually drier than a camels hump.

Actually, on second look, the big rains are still there but they've shifted a few hundred ks north to the Capricornia.
