Broome ending up being 3.4 deg below their 77 year old August minimum average .

Maximum was also 1.1 deg below average for August.

Coldest day was 25.1 deg and coldest minimum was 5.7 deg so all in all a pretty cool month for this year.

Definitely see a warming trend in September though.

Yep the dry season is still here but the heat ramping up a bit this week with Fitzroy Crossing recording the first over 40 deg day on Tuesday with 40.2 deg.

Broome also going up to the mid thirties by the weekend.

40deg here today with dry Easterly winds and a huge fire has been burning south east of Broome for the last week.
Smoke in town yesterday was terrible and visibility down to about 1 km .
Already burnt out half a million hectares.





DFES info

•The fire was reported at 05:24 AM on 11 October 2018 and currently there has been 500,000 hectares burnt.
•The cause of the fire is lightning.
•DFES is managing the fire.
