What a ridiculous afternoon of storms. Maryborough about to get spanked and the supercell responsible for trashing Dalby thru to Gympie is now dropping hail on the fish a few hundred k's off fraser island. And there is still more cells firing out near dalby!

What happened to the Goondiwindi cell, I wasn't paying attention to it and looks like it's fizzled out.

There's one west of Theodore that's building up but taking it's sweet time getting anywhere.

Just looked at the two traffic cams in Maryborough which are close to the centre of town. Certainly some very heavy rain, but no trees down, can't see any hail and the power looks to be still on.

The storm looks to have significantly weakened just as it hit Maryborough. On the radar it still looks decent (although the black core has broken up), but on the Doppler it's completely lost its wind strength.

In that wind there would be a distinct possibility of his over inflated ego taking flight & slapping him down. It may well have been in danger when you think about it.
I wouldn't want to get hit by that!!

I know; I may get away from work yet & be home for the next ones.
Speaking of work, the calls for emergency electrical fixes are coming in. Tomorrow is gonna be worse. and the next few months!

There's an interesting video or Cooloola Cove Woolworths doing the rounds. More water in the store than outside.

EDIT.... Just found it.. ****LANGUAGE WARNING****

Hervey Bay might be in with a shot to catch some of this. The black cell has consolidated in the north-west quadrant and that might drag it up just enough to the N/NW.

After all the frustrations and misses Mega will never complain about storms in WBB again after today lol!

Hi Lightning Gus - I see that Kingaroy Airport had a number of gusts up to 91 kph and thats still about 6 kms from Coolabunia where Ken's linked photos were taken.

Hi Foehn just saw your comment and I think my house dodged a massive bullet with this one. There is severe wind damage just a few hundred meters down the road but barely a twig has been dislodged at my place. If there is some sort of storm shield over my place I'm very thankful for it today! Less than 5km away roofs have been lost, farmland and bush severely damaged, stock and birds injured and killed. Really sad to see frown Will be out that way tomorrow so I'll post a few damage pics on here if I get time.
