Plants have grown and the rain gauge needs to be moved out to the open. Yes 1km north give or take.. I think i need to move it , trees blocking the flow.Prob more like 80.

Thunder and lightning from a dying thunderstorm right until it got to rocky, died right over us. What will it take to get a good storm? Need a good flush out.

Very tropical at the moment like nothern australia has moved south for the past few days, mosquitoes, high humidity, geckos, birds swooping, flies seem to be multiplying, plants growing fast , jellyfish etc and 38 deg already inland.

Feels like we've jumped ahead to December/January?

Just over 30 degs here. It looks like areas around Longreach were the hottest in the state. Certainly not late October weather. I look forward to the south easterlies tomorrow night into Monday.

I was only one at our beach in July must have been 22deg in the sea. Once you get in it was fine just felt a fraction cool but it was just right.

I dunno if it's the humidity on the coast or the angle of the sun now that makes it feel intense without a strong breeze . Rocky's heat feels drier every time I have been there at times throughout the year but the sun doesn't seem to feel like it's as strong? I dunno how to explain it. Perhaps the humidity and breeze reduction intensifies it on the coast.

They say it's going to be drier over summer but I think if this sort of buildup? keeps on going we might see an ex cyclone or some sort of big rain event in the next few months.

Did not really get a massive rain event last summer in Yeppoon. Was just a month or so where it rained a couple of times in moderate amounts but not enough to flood anything. I don't remember if Rocky got flooding last summer or whether rains in summer were sporadic or moderate.

Nice drop that. Enjoy the light show. I just had a very weak surge line pass over and drop 1mm that earlier gave Maryborough a nice drink (20mm) as it pushed north. Maybe tomorrow smile

This storm is going down well too, so much lightning, bit of steady rain, not much wind yet.

Happy to have those storms to the north. Peaceful sleep for tonight, I hope. Although a few drops to refill the tank would be nice. Came home from a day at the beach this week to hear the house pump running flat out. Pipe that runs between pump and house had split sending a great gush of water out. Garden liked it, me not so much.

Had a total for 2mm from last nights storm, Gladstone had a good pour from that cell mentioned. Very humid and steamy this morning, surely should see storms today.
