Howdy all, bit of humidity and it's time to awake from the dry season slumber.
I can hear some rumbles, I think we might get something half good... fingers crossed

Some nice cells about. The area between Mareeba and Walkamin is getting smashed. Wonder if it will fall in the AP gauge.

Stuff all here..barely wet the ground...sprinklers still definitely still on this weekend...

😂 my neighbor might be playing a trick on me🤔

No it poured down for a good half hour, washed a new garden bed away I was working on. When I got to the gauge it showed over 20mm, then I saw two little frogs at the bottom of the inner tube. Anyway poured into the outer tube and fished them out, still donít know how they get in there?

Nice rumbles to the south, but nudda in the the way of rain yet.

Stupidly didnít have my gauge out last night as I thought we were weeks off any rain. Wrong. Have just set it up, sorry but that normally reflects a pointless exercise. See how we go. Certainly plenty of red on the radar south and south west of here.

Is there a reading for Kewarra Beach for last night? I saw DUís report of 15mm, but I reckon it could have been more.

It's almost like we've skipped Oct altogether, and just gone straight from Sept weather to late Nov weather.

You could talk to YS..he also has frog infestation issues in his rain gauge...lol...its strange that they actually go in there..

We had 13mm of light rain today but it cleared off after lunch.....we missed the stormage that hit further north Ö

Is that it now or will there be more of this weather in the coming days...?

Yeah, not surprised that quite a few farmers reckon it was the driest they've seen.

last chance for rain/storm today?...and the radar is out

My question is, what temp was it at 15000ft? It was cold!!!!! I know there is a ratio where the temp falls one degree for every x hundred metres in altitude. How do I work out a rough temp of yesterday at Mission at 15000 feet.

If you haven't, you must! I am still buzzing!

Itís about 5c/km so you would have been around 23c cooler than surface temp. Humidity levels, cloud cover, instability all affect the standard lapse rate but thatís a reasonable rough guide. All said it would have been less than 10c, certainly chilly more so with that bit of a breeze.

Pretty cloudy here, the light has gone yellow.
Of course radar not working, hasn't worked all day. Must be connected to Telstra 3G lol - our 3G died at midnight, and won't be fixed til 10am tomorrow.

Almost 1mm from the teensy bit of rain last night.

Pleasant day, but still reached 37degrees, and currently 35.5. Humidity 25%, but feels more humid and more comfortable than that. Might be time to buy a new weather station. lol.
