We got no rain out of that enormous blob of rain around 5 o'clock. At least not worth looking in the gauge.

At the risk of jinxing it I have a good feeling for some storms today. Steering is good. Chances are they will be north and south of me as usual.
Also a fairly good October start to the storm season on the tablelands with Mareeba AP and, from reports, Biboohra already above the monthly average. Hopefully it is a good sign for the wet season to come.

You are just down the road from me RF. I am 4km down Emerald End Rd.

Thought we were in for a chance around 1pm but no joy. Maybe some inland storms tonight can make it. frown

There's this funny noise on the roof.....
Must be that teeny weeny little bit of whatever that I can only *just* see on the radar. :-/

Edit: it's still sort of sprinkling lightly and getting lighter, but whatever it was was enough for the VAST TV to lose signal.

Well at least I got to see and hear plenty of lightning and thunder from that storm last night. As usual for this time of year i was just on the edge and received 0.6mm. 😭
Disappointment continues.

Disappointment. That strange noise on the roof increased til I could identify it as "rain", but it lasted all of 30 seconds.

Got a whole 1.5 mm from the edge of that system last night. Best fall for ages out here.

Yeah, at first i thought it was a bushfire, but the lat and long suggests the wind farm is the problem.

Wonder if that's why the Radar needs tuning at the moment?

That blob looks permanent doesn't it?
Can only be the wind farm if it is.
How do we find out?

It's weird... I thought the radar picked up vapour at height, but maybe I am wrong?

Was a warm one today with 33.9c. This is already my hottest October here by 1c. The average will be even higher by months end, more like Novembers average.
November should be a scorcher!!!

It was a pleasantly warm 38degrees here at least today, and about 22% humidity.

Just checking my weather station's memory and there's a 39.2 degrees, which was quite possibly today, but at least some time in the last week since I changed the batteries.

Trip to Cairns shopping for a couple days next week - lots of airconditioned shops. grin grin
