Apparently it's still pretty sunny in the Gong and even has cracked 20 at the Airport!

It was cool and sunny in Sydney early this morning with light Westerlies. If only those could have continued. It's now overcast with patches of blue sky and occasional light showers. This looks like the pattern for the rest of today.

Interesting downgrade by Bom. 1-4mm wont take long to accumulate under mod/heavy e-ne'ly showers. Chunky looking stuff approaching Randwick being lit up by bright sunshine

Just got down here and still the same sunny weather with big Cu's. It's a beautiful day, but bring on those beefy showers tonight. Almost looks like we could get an isolated storm around too.

Btw that 1-4mm forecast actually means 1mm is expected but there is a 25% chance of 4mm.

Storms would be good. Plus a bit of warmth and an end to the constant drip drip drip.

Actually, today was a bit more than a few drips, with 9 mm to 9:00 at Chatswood (which I mostly slept through) and a further 4 mm since, but the falls seem to be mostly coastal now, with little where it's needed.

Plenty of shower activity today at Randwick, with decent verticality, was more concentrated on other things but a few chunky showers seemed to be popping up out western suburbs too. Just home now and its just started moderately raining here.

GR and Stormy hopefully with the higher precipitable water arriving further down in these few months hopefully a stationary cell pops up over you guys, because from my info you two live pretty close to each other. That's what i love about summer it can throw up the unexpected.

Some juicy rain in that NE rain band aimed straight at Sydney and the central coast, should arrive here around 6am.

Wow.
Some decent totals overnight in Sydney's north and west.
78 mm's at Mona Vale Gold Club, 69 at Terry Hills and 62 at Hornsby.
Plenty of 30 mm totals through the Hills District and through the western suburbs.
BOM were a little bit out with their forecast. lol.

23mm since 7pm last night here. Best we've had in a 24 hour period since the unstable pattern began in late Sept!

Quite significant falls in Sydney and the Central Coast overnight. The rain seems to have been concentrated in a band running NE-SW from Broken Bay extending into Sydney's South West, attenuating as in moved inland.

Highest falls seem to have been over 90 mm a bit South of Terrigal.
Nearby Chatswood received 36 mm. mostly after Midnight. OH received 13 mm.

Yeah. Spawned from a mini equator in the Tasman which sent a mini ITCZ over the coast. We might even get a mini cyclone from it with possible mini tornados.
