Great night. Sat on the tank and watched the cell down at McLaren vale, could hear the rumbles from the big flangs. Then woken up at 3am or so by daughter who was woken by the storms so we sat on the back veranda for a bit and watched the show.

That light I would guess is a transformer on a power line blowing it's load after getting hit.

138,000 lightning strikes I just heard quoted on the radio. Pretty sure going by memory, that's more than what was seen on the infamous Nov 5 2012.

I was on yorke Peninsula early morning, that will remain as the most spectacular lightning show I've seen for some time I think. I've seen slightly better flash rates in the past from MCS, but this was a near pure bolt fest at times. Absolutely spectacular.

I saw this this too. My video got some of it but not as good as yours did - my guess was a power transformer arc and death.

Yep the green flash was a transformer being blown up from the bolt, had a few transformers go in the area as one went to my north.

No doubt the best flang display I've ever seen at home, downright crazy and breaking the rules. Had to drive the F stop to 16 to capture some of the spekky bolts and usually not outside when bolts are that close.
