Same up here. Maxed out at 35.6, but has been around 35 for the last three hours.
Very hot and dry wind too, which is stripping out any moisture in the grass and it is brown again.

Temps hovering around 40C all afternoon tempered by cloud cover.
Impressive 8.7 Giga Watts electricity usage for both QLD & NSW, record set at 9.797 in QLD on 14 Feb 2018. Educational isnt it? At least gonabe cooler from now on for a while.

Later tomorrow could see showers and some thunderstorm activity starting to spread down from areas such as the Wide Bay & Burnett into northern parts of SE QLD, and then possibly further down into our region during the evening or overnight hours.... but models differ on exactly how far south this activity extends to (depends a bit on the exact positioning/amplitude of the approaching upper trough).

The best case scenario involves moderate to localised heavy falls spreading down over areas like the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane by the overnight hours while the worst case only has modest falls confined to far northern parts of SE QLD.

There may also be a smaller area of very late activity further south near the border.

1st image - sig wx graph for Brisbane showing the increasingly cooler daytime temps on the way... and also the gusty SE winds peaking midweek.

2nd image - EC's current rainfall/thunder scenario for late Tue afternoon.

The air is so heavy here right now. It does feel like it's gonna pop up here tomorrow but it could start a little too early for my liking.

WBB is the place to be tomorrow. Approaching upper trough, stalled southerly change right through the lower levels, big CAPE and some nice lapse rates. It might kick off a little early but bound to be heavy falls with that kind of set-up. All models indicating some serious rain with flash flooding potential up there tomorrow. Then the action moves further north the day after.

We might see some rain down here but at this stage it doesn't look like anything close to up north.

That area around Gympie has been a hot spot so far this season for good storms wouldn't be surprised to see more severe action up that way.

Change came through here about an hour ago, ya know its dry when even the SE'ly changes are full of dust and smoke frown
Sorry for off topic but was interesting to observe the thousands, probably hundreds of thousands of birds riding in front of the change, took about 10 minutes for them all to pass over and off to the north west but seemed like there were more birds than sky for a while just on sunset. Looked like swifts and swallows, was at least 3 different types flying around, definitely one of the biggest flocks of birds I've ever seen!

Noticed some sort of returns on reflective and doppler earlier west of Brisbane that alligned with the western edge of the southeasterly. Wondered if it was insects. Have seen a cloud of moths and mosquitos once riding the leading edge of a southeast change years ago. May explain the birds.

Lookin like groundhog ridge conditions for the weeks ahead.Time to forget about the weather and go surfing the points instead.Make the most of tomorrow wherever that might be in the region.

Yeah Gus I saw them too while I was out in the garden. Swifts & swallows certainly were up there, I remember thinking " geez guys you're disorganised bunch" nd larger birds going through with them.
It was a very odd sight indeed.
I didn't see the bats come over at the usual time either but then I've been coming in lately as there have been an increase in bat bites etc during the heatwave & dry dusty winds.
It's these things I love about weather, watching how changes affect species.
Please no-one mention the any myth, lol.

Anything’s better than the relentless disgusting stinking hot dry westerlies, filthy smoke and dust filled skies, raging fires, and not even any rain or storms as reward!

See air quality index ons and forecast above for Brisbane. The PM2.5 levels have been nasty today due to the smoke.
