Agree with you on that Ken. I reckon one of the best all round regions for weather in my books is down near where Seabreeze has set up shop. The mid North coast is always reasonably warm isn't as adversely affected by the ridge and can get severe storms all year round.

Storms already firing to Northwest at Mundabbera as seen on Storm tracker at 0809. Another cell at Lowmead. Moving swiftly from the NorthWest. Very lightning active cells.

Yup, we're about to get pummelled in Kingaroy. Storm growing as it gets closer & already we have thunder that rattles the building.

Def looking pretty on radar and pleasing to see it's going according to the forecast... so far at least anyway.

Lightning and satellite image below via The Early Warning Network.

And yep Tweedstorm, I'd agree with you there... Seabreeze's area is very nice. I've often visited the MNC (and Hunter/Central Coast as well) often over the years and I've always loved that general strip of NSW.

Just finished tidying up the yard, stacking up all of building materials and old tin from the roof that we got replaced last week. Just in case we get a gusty storm later today. wink

I now can say, with certainty, that I much prefer this humdity and feeling of something building up then that baking dry heat of the last few weeks.

The rumbles are getting closer now and I'm waiting in anticipation for it to finally break.

The explosion of that western Burnett cell looks even more impressive on infra-red!

No worries Colin.... if it manages to last a number of hours, it could be the birth of an MCS.

Hearing a few distant deep rumbles.

Be nice to have long lasting storm with the sound of thunder for a few hours. The way things are going for us though it will probably turn into a extratropical cyclone and trap my wife in town. crazy cry Just joking.
The Sat is impressive as it looks like a decent low, something you would see in the mid plains of the USA during an outburst.

Just about to tick over to 50mm here. Still raining lightly and still the odd flang around. Have to say this storm season has been pretty damn good for the WBB for once...it's a nice change instead of having to swelter in the heat every day and watch storms die as they approach us in the evening.

Travelling today, Bundy back to Hervey bay. Chucked it down pretty well this arvo at Hervey bay, I'm.guessing over an inch.. Rain rate was never too extreme, so would be very welcome to those with tanks and dams...

Much appreciated drop here this afternoon maybe 10mm. So is the rain for tomorrow coming from onshore flow?
