My max/min thermo indicated a max of 41C here (in the shade) sometime this afternoon. .....Grain of salt as my weather station is currently refusing to offer the temperature trend chart for some reason I'm too dumb to fix.

Nice 21 here in Portland after the very weak cool change, bit of wind right on it but nothing now, wish it was stronger to help cool the house down.

37° Yesterday and 35°C Today

Surprisingly its quite rare that we get 2 days above 35°C in a row in December.

Interesting regards to rainfall, im not sure we
Will see to much at all over the next few days
With this lingering trough?? Dosent seem all that
Strong, East Gippsland looks like it will see the
Most if storms develop.
Any chance of significant rain looks to be late
Next week

I had a laugh at BOM putting "oppressive night" in the Melbourne local forecast, but it was accurate.

Mostly cloudy 36C here today, hot point was late morning under a period of sunshine with high humidity. Felt like huge storms could brew.

....but breeze commenced from the S lunchtime, persisted long enough to "extinguish" things out this way this arvo.

Calm overcast 26C with light rain just arriving now.

A steamy ish day for the central ranges with a few spots, high of 27.5c and light winds. Wind smashing through from SSE since late arvo with fog, strong winds and 13.9c currently.

Was in Trentham this arvo and could see the storm near Ballan, was certainly going ok for awhile.

Interesting atmosphere atm, notwithstanding localised fog and wind event. Lots of boundaries at various heights and models still seem to think it might fire up around here after midnight. Was doubting it but starting to see some movement on radar and satellite. Fingers crossed I don't have to water tomorrow.

Woken up to distant rumble and a shower of rain through the fog which appears to have lasted all night.

5.5mm in Sale this morning, calm and cloudy.

Handy rain smile

Certainly some excitement atm, looking very
positive with the models, even the next 24/36hrs should be
good with a poss. 1/2" total or even better locally.

6mm in Maffra this morning, calm, humid and cloudy. The Santa anna couch recently planted on Royal Maffra's 9th fairway will be growing so fast that golfers will get tripped if they stand around too long.

Well I'm back in NSW, as a heat lover I did enjoy your heat down there in the Yarra Valley, not to mention I also enjoyed the wines too!!

Hopefully you guys do get some good rain in the next system, most of that bush looked tinder dry!!

1.1mm from the fog (which still lingers though sun poking through) and brief early shower. Temp only 15.2c so far. Interesting visible satellite and radar to the W and NW.

For those losing hope can see huge congestus to my SSW exploding above the fog. Storms W and NW and on vis satellite stretching way back so plenty of chances to come. 18/16 here at 579m now some brief clearance has occurred, its on I think.
