The sky certainly looks a lot more interesting than when I was last outdoors. I took a couple of pictures but they didn't really come out.

Here's a distant view of the storms to Sydney's South, a screenshot from the Sydney Webcam:

Sounds like the beginning of a storm, here. Loud rumbles.

Storms are that unpredictable that you can't really determine that. They could've easily formed 50km north of where they did which would hit much of Sydney. For example if one formed at Richmond, much of the basin would have been hit.

Btw I've seen two storms at Stanwell Park and now two nearer to home and none of them have been particularly lightning active, which is interesting considering yesterday they were. There are 2 that I've been trying to photograph and A LOT of patience is required!

That storm hitting has no lightning at all now, just a very heavy downpour.

Saw some amazing structure from the airport on leaving Sydney around 7pm this evening. Trying to find a photo that doesn't have to much glare etc. Was a beauty with two RFB's ,flanking line. Inflow tail developed by the time I was on the plane. Then all the muck from the sea obscured it.

Zero cloud this morning here. Seems marginal for storms, but there is still a chance. I wont have any expectations as I think it will all be north.

Missed out on the colossus rain that hit lake macquarie yesterday. That would have been an excellent extra bit of rain, but cant complain.

Round of applause to EC who pretty much nailed the event (from a fair way out), and also it looks a bit different to the other models for this weeks transiting low, where it shows the low as a bit more cut-off.... I hope it is right again.

Damage looks a bit random - microburst rather than tornado?
