YES!!!!! We had a ripper shower come over at 10:30 last night and dump 53.5mm on us 💕😍💕😍. Our December total is now over 100mm. Absolutely fabulous, our dam is not quite full however the neighbours dam must be and is bywashing across the paddock so with any luck we’ll start bywashing soon too and pass on the joy. Power has also been out since about 11pm but oh well. Time to turn the gennie on soon.

Fantastic Lani. Sounds like most of the Downs has had over 100mm for this event. The farmers couldn't have had a better christmas present.

St Ruth statiom ended up on 267mm. That would have to be one of the higher 24hr rainfall totals ever recorded on the Downs. Quite the event.

13.5mm for me, 33 for the event. 338mm ytd

Just adding more to some of the totals on Kens post,
At 0600 17 th Dec total for the event thus far
Mt Glorious 221 mm
Mt Nebo 221 mm
Upper. Clumber 282mm
Crohamhurst 176 mm
Some very good high total rainfalls in many other places too as other have mentioned. All the way from The Wide Bay Region, some areas out West and down the coast into NSW.got some decent rain.
But it was the first 3 that impressed me by cracking the 200 mm total for this event
Other places also over the 200 mm.

A respectable 20mm out here making 58mm total. Almost filled the water tanks, more would have been better, the next system later in the week looks like giving some more christmas cheer.

Another 6mm here. That's 30mm all up. The heavy falls I was expecting were pulled to the east to skirt Fraser overnight.

Cheers justme. I'm actually out at Raintree so the Pacific Haven Alert is probably closer to me. I know they seem to get a lot more rain in BH town than I do out here. I'll see if I can get bom to fix the local station though.

144.4mm fell here in the 24 hours to 9am this morning from yesterday's thunderstorms and heavy rain at times. The rain pretty much all fell in-between 10am yesterday and 1am this morning.
It's the second wettest day of the year here (March 22nd being the wettest with 163.4mm). Although it's only the wettest December day here since last year when 236.8mm fell on Boxing Day (during the awesome Christmas / Early January extended storm outbreak).

The Bellinger River at Bellingen peaked at 6.24m, which is 46cm below its moderate flood level. The river peaked at 3.41m at Thora with minor flooding.

A minor flood warning for the Orara River has been current since early this morning:
Quote:
Minor Flood Warning for the Orara River (re-issue)
at Glenreagh and Coutts Crossing
Issued at 10:51 am EDT on Monday 17 December 2018
Flood Warning Number: 6
MINOR FLOODING IS CURRENT AT GLENREAGH

Minor flooding is occurring along the Orara River at Glenreagh where the river is expected to peak around midday today.
Heavy rainfall has been recorded across the Orara River catchment during Sunday and early Monday morning. Rainfall has eased since 6am this morning.

Orara River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Orara River.
The Orara River at Glenreagh Automatic Gauge is likely to peak near 7.80 metres around 01:00 pm Monday with minor flooding.
The Orara River at Glenreagh Bridge (manual flood gauge) is likely to peak near 6.00 metres around 02:00 pm Monday with minor flooding.
The Orara River at Coutts Crossing is likely to exceed the minor flood level (5.00 m) around 07:00 pm Monday. The river level is likely to reach around 8.00 metres Tuesday morning with minor flooding.

Widespread 24hr to 9am falls of over 100mm between here and Grafton.

200mm+ falls in the 24hrs to 9am this morning in NENSW:
280mm 'Portable RFSNSW13' [near Nymboida]
264mm Glenreagh
253mm Nymboida
244mm Bellingen (Crystal Creek)
243mm Thora Post Office
236mm Dorrigo
235mm Dorrigo (Mountain Top)
226mm Kooroowi
200mm Gleniffer

There should be storms develop again today on the MNC. They should favour the ranges and foothills/hinterland though, with a lesser chance about the coastal fringe.

Edited by Seabreeze (17/12/2018 11:23)
Edit Reason: Orara River flood warning was reissued with errors corrected from 10am update

Thanks Seabreeze, saved me from reporting the same, but done with a whole heap more detail than I would have had time to list smile
Was a great day in Bello. Those storms just sat there right through the day. More of an onshore flow and the awesome uppers just left them glued to the hills and coast. Most bridges open again in Bellingen. Trees were left on the main bridge through town overnight but awesome early morning work got them cleared away.
