Would have been the same storm that struck us Jac0b...that storm was something to watch approach, circular rotation with green and orange colours and lightening lighting it up from within....then went as dark as night..then the wind and rain and hail to finish...

The same emergency vehicle sirens on the roads around us as we had on Saturday..tree branches down again..

That was epic! A series of flangs which I almost had to change my undies for, loving life.
2 days with arvo thunderstorms, it's been a while since this has happened here and decent ones too.

Next round incoming (and possibly the last one according to radar). Probably the 5th or 6th today.

Must be what it is like to live in Singapore, high humidity that breaks down in to afternoon thunderstorms most days...1 more storm looks to be rolling in for us here and that will probably be it..

Looks like it's finishing up here. A few patches of blue sky showing, plus some dreaded marine fungus blowing in on a SSE'er.

I didn't get hail in the second round, but it was a most impressive sound and light show. I took a couple of short videos and pictures I'll post later if good enough.

---

I think that' s it for storms for the time being. I hope no one suffered injury or serious damage.

Coming up is a few days of dismal South-Easterly weather, then a warm, sunny, sea breezy Christmas period. GFS is showing heat for the New Year.

2 holes in the skylight here at tuggerah, The rest is held together with duct tape till I can get out and replace it tomorrow.
Neighbours alsonite pateo is all shattered. We experienced hail (mostly oval shaped, some with irregular shapes) to roughly 3 odd CM end to end.Lasted about 5mins. t'was a good solid storm.

Hope Everybody has got away with minimal damage

I feel like ive become a fulltime tree lopper. Only 25% through cleaning up saturdays damage and add 3 more trees, one large gum. Power out again. No hail here, just ferocious wind, could see it coming on doppler, 9.5mm in gauge, probably about 20mm missed gauge due to wind

After yesterday evening's deluge, Penrith and Richmond had DPs of 25-26c all afternoon with tempertures around 34-35c, so something eventually had to give in these parts.

Darwin would struggle to do better.

Baloney. Darwin gets those dpís every single day with temps mid 30ís.

My closest AWS at Woodville Golf Course 4 and a bit km away has hit 50 mm, probably closer to what I've experienced here at home than Bankstown AWS 34.2 mm.

Here's a view if the storm about to hit a bit after 6:00PM. I autofixed the colour abc contrast and upped the colour saturation a bit. I couldn't do much about the street light:

About 25 mm here from today's storms (Chatswood). OH finished with 28.

Of course it does because there are 30c+ SSTs nearby, but that was not my point.

It would struggle to do much better than 35/26 due to its location.

For example, the last three days of typical build up conditions in Darwin have fallen short of today's astonishing 35/26 reading in Penrith.

Video still of one of the bolts, appears as it's hitting a tree or house somewhere in Cromer heights.
