The title says it all.

I'd just like to firstly, wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, and secondly, thank EVERYONE for their involvement in these forums.
As each year passes, I learn more and more about the weather and in general, meteorology, and I know this wouldn't have been possible without reading these forums.
I also cannot thank more, those that have so much knowledge and are happy to pass their knowledge on, particularly those that have had BOM experience.

Merry Christmas everyone. May you all have a happy, safe and prosperous festive season.

All the best for Christmas Homer and to all posters, mods and readers here.

Looks like no rain for the time being but it'll be back. May Summer and the coming year bring a bit of everyone's favourite weather.

Perfect Christmas weather today. Visited family on the Central Coast. Had the traditional big lunch then we went outside by the pool with kids running and splashing around.

I thought I'd update the table December 25 maxima at Sydney Airport I posted the other day. For 2011 - 2018:

28.2, 20.7, 21.5, 29.4, 26.6, 28.4, 22.4, 30.1

It reached 35.5 at Penrith and 26.5 in the fridge at OH.

Looks like perfect weather for the start of the Sydney to Hobart race.

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas Day. Great weather. Interesting little fact: today is the last Christmas Day to fall on Tuesday until 2029. In 2023, Christmas Day will be on Monday and then in 2024 on Wednesday due to the leap year.

Couldn't agree more Steve re the perfect weather comment.
It was hot out my way in the Hills, but I spent my Christmas day at Mosman with the out-laws. It was warm, but extremely pleasant. The sea breeze was very pleasant.
The quintessential warm Christmas Day that we all crave.

Bring on the heat now. On Saturday, I'll be heading to the south coast for a week, and I'll be about 50 metres from the beach, so I'm happy that sea breezes will be keeping my stay there cooler than if I stayed back here in Dural.

First rainless Xmas I can remember in about 5 years. Very nice spell of days. Bit of weak buildup happening over the inland, can see a few turkey towers.

Also a warning out for ozone.

Appears a weak storm went through Moruya, the AP station recorded 3.2mm.

Meanwhile up north Cairns is having a wild X-mas period with about 200mm falling in the last 3 days plus another what should be 100mm+ to 9am tomorrow.
