Massive fail here so far - mainly clear skies frown hoping it may change later - can see huge stuff well off the coast as usual.

Looks like theres not that much heading towards this area either, could definitely be a fizzer.

I'm finding it a bit hard to see the 10 to 25mm the BoM is predicting but I hope I'm wrong.
Still nothing here except from the 3.2mm to 9am this morning.

Geez guys it only takes one well aimed cell to unload over you and surpass the forecast totals. It happened last week in Sydney.

I'm hoping the rain stays away. But that's me. Would rather get stuff done outside. The weekend is the only time I see my place in daylight at present.

No chance of a fizzer now. Willing to bet we get flooded by 8pm and will no doubt be stuck at work. The hail part is what I'm a bit skeptical about but never know, the uppers are cold enough I guess

It is starting to look a lot better by what I see coming in and the radar.

You live in the second driest continent on earth. Sydney is on water restrictions from lack of rain, and you hope the rain stays away so you can get stuff done outside.

Personally, I'm not very fond of these "weather needs to stay restrained so I can perform my usual activities"-type fellows; is there any reason as to why you can't perform your much-desired activities in the rain?

Most city blighters can be such nancies, at times.

Each to their own I guess.
Looks like the showers are slowly teeing up off the coast.
This upper level feature with the 300hPa winds looks really good.

The weather will restrain itself or not regardless of my planned activities. Thus far today, it has been restrained, partly cloudy with long sunny periods. There was a brief sprinkle an hour ago.

Those showers are getting closer and they look quite heavy on the Terry Hills radar. I think that whatever influence is causing them is creeping slowly South.

I believe that the BOM usually get the big picture right, but sometimes the timing and exact location might be a bit out, as seems to have happened today.

P.S. Note the low maxima in Newcastle and Williamtown so far, just 11 point something. This morning I thought that Sydney might struggle to reach the forecast maximum of 16, but it has actually overshot that a little with 16.8 earlier this afternoon.

Bit of showery activity headed towards Katoomba. Wonder if some sleet/snow is possible with that.

That radar looks exactly like a reversal of the typical summer radar, all these red cells moving from the east. There'd be some decent hail showers in that mess for sure.

YES,the showers are coming inland just starting here, but only very light, there looks to be heavier stuff moving in from the SE though.

Radar has sure filled in a tad with a better se’erly steer but still much work to do before it lives up to the forecast. I’m hoping it does, as hate seeing a wasted cold pool.

It appears that Cooma's forecast maximum of 9° C was an absolute failure, as it had only reached 5.4° C today at the AP. Had some brief, sleety showers throughout the day at times, but not proper snowfall like Rob G got...these South-Easterly events whereby the CT's get snowfall but I don't, are really starting to bugger me now.
